GFH Capital wouldn't pay 2.5m to bring Poyet to Leeds

Well there's a kick in the teeth for Nice Guy Brian. Poyet has revealed that he wants to manage Leeds one day and it transpires that the Lesser Talented Non Biting Uruguayan was on the shortlist to replace the Warnock but the 2.5m compensation demanded by Brighton forced the Leeds board to look elsewhere.

How short sighted is that? If Poyet is the right man for the job, a paltry 2.5m should not have stood in the way of his recruitment.

What does this say to Nice Guy Brian? Firstly, the Arab bank built on sand are penny pinching and don't appear to have two camels to rub together - not great news when the squad needs extensive restructuring.

And secondly, poor Brian was not even second choice after Nigel Adkins, he was number three on the list, unless, of course Leeds would have preferred Il Duce Di Canio as well!

Still, if everybody in the club pulls in the same direction and the obstacles are removed...

  1. really can not wait till the summer when the so called bank built on sand bear their teeth in the transfer market , it may be something a nerd like you would do but every sane person knows what had to be done when they took over , only a nerd like you would splash the cash in January,, they knew warnock had to go , they knew Mcdermott would come and they know they will provide him with the funds to build an exciting football team to take us into the premiership ,, your just clutching at straws because deep down you know they are shrewd business men who are now going to do the business !!!!

  2. This Gus-guy had his chance to become a legend at Leeds. He preffered to be a translater in London, and ran away at first chance. We need proper men, even if they are low spoken, bald and seems to be a niceguy. Gus, no thank you!

    Marching on...

  3. Poyet walked away the last time he was at Leeds. People claim he was the brains behind Wise when we had a great start to the 07/08 season. Well, where those brains the year before when we went down?

Poyet is not welcome at Leeds in my eyes and as for you, concentrate on your own tin pot club.

  4. Your comments are inaccurate, nowhere does it state that the fact he has a 2.5 million clause in his contract stopped him being the Leeds manager. The fact Brighton will probably be in the playoffs and may well get promoted is the major reason why he is still there.

Personally I would have chosen BM over Poyet anyway.

I believe that BM was our first choice,so get your facts right nancy boy. You little Leeds lover.

  5. WOW - Yet again twisting a story to suit your own perverted anti Leeds agenda.

Nowhere is there any proof we approached Brighton

Nowhere is there any proof that McDermott wasn't 1st choice

Nowhere is there any proof of undiseased braincells in your skull.

McDermott was always my 1st choice, once he became available.

Steady manager, fits tactics to available players, not player for failed tactics like Warnock, and knows how to work to a budget.

  6. you've come across a story of poyet saying he would come back one day and you've now twisted it into GFH not being able to buy out his contract ,,, what kind of people do you think we are ,,do you think only you can surf the internet reading stories , do think no one else read what poyet said ?? but only you could turn it into something it wasn't ,, memo to yourself , must try harder .... oh Brian mcdermott

  7. Poyet had his time at Leeds, time to look forward and let McDermott get on with building a team that will see us promoted. Is your team that poor, you have to spend so much time talking and writing about the Mighty Whites?

  8. In the same context, the lack of funds could be said about your team not having the means to build it's own ground, instead you're sponging 'cap in hand' off the everyday tax payer.
I would sooner have demolished the stadium than let some 'chavs like you lot kick around in it.

  9. The stadium in Coventry is available maybe the lump hammers could move there.....it looks like they can't wait to move somewhere/anywhere. I suppose if their so called fans are more interested in other clubs you cannot blame them. Portsmouth anybody.................?

  11. Even if we paid the 2.5 mil release clause, he's hardly going to leave a team in the playoffs with a good chance of promotion for a mid table team with nothing to play for, wake up!

  15. It wouldn't matter if GFH splashed out £20Mil in the summer DTHF (Daft Twat Hammers Fan) would still find some way to put a negative spin on things. It seems to me like there's a deeper psychological reason at work here with old DTHF maybe putting the downer on things is his way of coping with the fact that he's lacking in some way, maybe he feels inferior in the bedroom department, who knows?

  16. Institute of Economics and Peace five least peaceful local authorities:

    1. Lewisham, London
    2. Lambeth, London
    3. Hackney, London
    4. Newham, London
    5. Tower Hamlets, London

Clubs with recent race abuse problems with their fans:

    1. West Ham
    2. Millwall
    3. Chelsea

Interesting picture building here isn't there?

Come and live in Leeds Hammersfan, far safer, far more beautiful, far more tolerant of Jews - though not so tolerant of Jew hating scum I am afraid.

You know you love Leeds hence your obsession and you know you are ashamed of the racist scum club you support and the ****hole it belongs to.

  17. I can't understand why somebody like yourself, graced with such a beautiful, size 8 wife, that puts your honey on your toast who travels the globe and who can go out and buy a 5STAR Michelin meal for a quid, drink yourself stupid for nothing and supports the team that deserves to play in the Olympic stadium, as even the slightest interest in our GREAT CLUB? STRANGE! May be you are a closet supporter? Lets hope you do see our GREAT CLUB reach the dizzy heights of the Premier league before the CANCER FUCKING KILLS YOU. LOVE and kisses.

  20. Firstly, its beyond me why a west ham fan is so interesting in the workings of our club. Secondly, maybe our owners didn't believe adkins, poyet or di canio was the best man for the job. Your coming across as if the bookie's favourite was the best choice. After 'nice guy brian' took the helm at leeds our squad looks rejuvinated and enthusiastic, we've took 6 out of a possible 9 points and without those would be 1 point of the drop. I've learned as a leeds fan all my life not to get excited about a new manager as more often than not you'll be let down by the end of their usually short tenure so I'm definately not saying that leeds will be a completely dofferent team next season and win promotion as its equally possible we'll be in a dog fight at the foot of the table. Every leeds fan and every other half-witted football fan in the world familiar to the english game will know that leeds need to rebuild the squad totally. Everyone knows brian has a talented eye for a player and if they are a bargain then so be it, who's going to complain about not spending enough money? Although in saying that quality needs to be brought into the squad.

    you hf,definitely you.........

  22. If the so called bank built on sand has no money why would they spend 2.5 million on a manager when they can(and have)get a manager for nothing .I'm no economic genius but surely spending the said 2.5 million on players of a decent calibre would be more prudent.

  23. What a sad individual (1256). The discussion was going so well and then enters the tyre swinging Neanderthal into the forum, knuckles dragging and obsessed with death. Why do you find it necessary to print such vile comments? This odd ball is either sick or just plain evil and certainly not a true Leeds fan and you clearly know who it is so why keep printing rubbish like this. Stick to the meaningful comments about our club, your club or any ones club then you might be taken more seriously.

  31. lets just analysis why Gus poyet would take time out to say such things , could it be because brighton are playing Leeds at ER on sat ??!! im guessing you have never studied pyscoligy mate??! don't you think for one min that he's just playing mind games , hoping that the majority at ER will fall for the PR stunt and let him and brighton walk into a very subdued ER on sat, telling the fans that they are the best and one day he'll be their manager is an insult to our intelligence ,, you have obviously been sucked into this bullshit hook line and sinker and that's the reason for this posting ,, wake up mate , you've been sucked in , we on the other hand won't be and Gus and his merry men won't be given an easy ride into the play offs by us !!!
