Read McDermott's words carefully - Byram 100% may be sold by Leeds this summer!

He may be a nice guy, but Brian aint a sucker. He chose his words VERY carefully when asked about the possibility of Byram being sold at the end of the season. Look again if you thought he said that definitely wasn't going to happen!

NGB's exact words were: "From our point of view, my point of view, absolutely, 100%, I would expect Sam to be playing for us next season. He will get better and he will improve at Leeds, there is no doubt about that. He's a Leeds boy - the fans love him, the staff love him, the players love him."

Now where does it say that Byram will not be sold? He will be playing at Leeds next season, but that does not mean he will not be sold! Man City have no need for him next season, but boy could GFH Capital do with a ten million quid cash injection.

So the solution? Well the Zaha deal will probably be the template. Leeds sell him and retain use of him for another season; Man City land a top young British talent; and Byram becomes a very wealthy young man overnight.

And Brian has been absolutely honest with the fans he adores!

  1. Are you now conducting a blog that just states the blindingly obvious ? Of course he might be sold, if offered £10m for him Leeds should sell, they'd be foolish not to bearing in mind you could practically rebuild a Championship squad for that kind of money. All obvious to anyone with half a brain, which is why I'm wondering what the point of this is ?

    1. You seem to be assuming that the money will be reinvested in the squad. GFH Capital are not in this for love!

      Delete
    2. Probably not, but their aim is to reap the rewards that promotion to premiership brings & they'll know that won't happen by selling their top players and/or not investing to improve the squad.

      Delete
    3. Thats exactly what I'm assuming ... GFH are not owners for the steady income, they are looking to make a profit on their investment by selling the club on. It's in their own interests to strengthen the team, and what better way to do it than to use transfer income as it means not putting any more money in themselves. Again, I'm fine with this, its a sensible way to develop.

  18. Ignoring all the barmy and childish insults, of course McDermott cant say that Byram wont be sold next season. He cant say that about ANY of our players. He cant even say HE will definately still be at the club even two games into the season.... The reason being, it's not his choice. It would be like me sayin that all my work colleagues will DEFINATELY be at the company next year....its not up to me.

In the same way, your manager cant say that about any of YOUR players, coz it's not up to him. Alex Ferguson cant say it about RVP or Rooney, Wenger Cant say it about Tevez or Hart....need I go on?

All BM is doing is making an assumption based on what he has no doubt been told. Thats all he CAN do.

If Man City do come in with a 10 million bid then Byram will most likely be sold as would your best player, no doubt. It's the stark reality of plying your trade outside of the top 4 teams....

Every club is a selling club, its simply a matter of degrees...

    ReplyDelete
  19. hf i honestly believe that we have reached a time now where young players are more likely to stay longer at their first club if they are getting first team football.they know if they are good enough they will eventually get the move and all the money that comes with it.just look at aston villas team now, full of players bought from lower league sides.ashley westwood for example could have moved to a premier league side a few years ago but stuck it out with crewe and now is a better player for it.too many young players move too early and ruin their careers.also sam byram must know leeds arent that far away from promotion and he plays every week,he will be with us for at least another season

  20. This is totally irrelevant - but so are most of your posts.

I remember a few years ago following a Hammers fan who was far more interesting than you - "West Ham Lass".

She would remove an item of clothing every time West Ham won a game, then post the pictures on her web-site. Now as you didn't win many matches it took her ages and ages to get to the nitty gritty of boobs and minge, but evntually she did. Great bit of fun it was and I was quite sad when the site eventually closed down.

To be honest, at one point I thought that it was Julian Dicks just pissing about - he had big enough boobs, but unless he'd had gender re-assignment down below I eventually had to concede that it was a bird. Albeit a quite chunky one.

Oh - and she wasn't obsessed with Leeds United either.

      http://thegamesgonecrazy.blogspot.ro/2011/11/why-gary-why.html

Justify your allegations in the light of this! In case you can't follow the link, this is the article in full:

What a terrible waste. Gary Speed was a very decent player, a very decent bloke by all accounts and, based on recent Wales performances, a more than very decent manager; but at aged 42 he has thrown away his life and left a wife and two young children in mourning. What ever lies behind this, his decision to take his own life was a wasteful, foolish and a sadly selfish act from a man respected for the help and support he has given to others. God knows what his family are going through at the moment and they should be our first concern as we ponder why Gary, why?

It certainly could have nothing to do with football because Speed was surfing the crest of a wave inside the game. If depression was to blame - as some are already suggesting - then those who chuck around comments about mental health issues - and there have been a few on here today - might like to stop and think. We have accepted that using terms related to physical and mental disability as insults are unacceptable, but some idiots still seem to think it is fair game to use mental illness itself as a stock insult. Maybe if they didn't, those who genuinely suffer might feel more comfortable about seeking help.

Congratulations are due to Kenny Dalglish for his statement and for making the decision to rest Bellamy. Shankly shamefully claimed that football was more important than life and death; but Dalglish has righted that wrong today by saying that grieving is "more important than any football match". Spot on.

Congratulations too to the fans at the Swansea v Villa and Liverpool v Man City games. Stupid rivalries were put aside and the applause in both stadia was very touching.

Life goes on, but sadly not for Gary Speed. His pain is over but that pain has been passed to a wife, loving parents and two young children - as well as to current and former players up and down the land who seem to have genuinely loved the guy. Given's tears and the inability of Hartson to broadcast for Radio 5 Live say it all.

Football is in a state of shock and perhaps we should all take stock. It seems such a wonderful life but the pressures are acute and players and managers are people, with human emotions, and can be hurt like everybody else. Those hunting down Kean at Blackburn and Bruce at Sunderland might like to reflect. Of course we feel passionate about the game and the club we love but sometimes we cross the line in an unacceptable way and sometimes a terrible price is paid, a price far worse than relegation.

    2. With regard to Savile, follow this link:

      http://thegamesgonecrazy.blogspot.ro/2012/10/jimmy-savile-leeds-connection.html

      Please note my opening paragraph:

Some rather distasteful individuals have posted comments on here trying to besmirch the City of Leeds and Leeds United Football Club on the basis that Savile was born in Leeds. One idiot who purports to support the club has even tried to goad me into penning an article designed to stir up hatred between our clubs. How sad.

      And my paragraph:

Anyway, there will be no Savile jibes from me and certainly no attempt to tarnish the City nor its football club because of his abusive actions. It is a sad final chapter to what was previously a weirdly epic story and the big questions for me are the extent to which employees were pressurised by senior managers not to spill the beans and why, exactly, these managers felt to need to cover up Savile's actions.

Now, you explain why you are trying to use that article against me. I quote the first three comments left on the thread:

    3. Some really distasteful Blogger cunningly wrote a blog with deliberate use of the name Savile (known Paedo) and Leeds (known Team he loathes) in the same headline.

Now this blogger would have you believe that the article he wrote which was all about how wrong it is to make a connection between Savile and Leeds was really a morally correct and responsible piece of writing.
What this blogger doesn't appreciate is that most of us could see through this subterfuge and understand very quickly that getting the headline out there which combined the name Savile and Leeds, was his prime objective.
He now defends the shit storm he deliberately caused by continuously quoting the good and righteous words he wrote in the blog.
We are not silly Mr Blogger, we know what you did and we know why.
It's quite telling by the sheer length this Blogger will go to in his replies trying and explain his innocence over the Savile and Speed blogs. That in itself is an obvious sign of his guilt.
