Benitez Repeating Liverpool Errors At Chelsea

I know Abramovich was running out of options but why, oh why, would any club appoint Benitez? This is a guy whose reputation rests on a shocking AC Milan second half collapse and a couple of penalty shoot out victories. Why trust him with running a big club like Chelsea when even Liverpool thought better of re-appointing him and opted for rookie manager Brendan Rodgers instead?

This morning Benny is blaming the Chelsea squad, claiming it lacks depth! He should try managing West Ham! The truth of the matter is, Benny is cocking it up, all over again.

He presided over the demise of Liverpool FC, turning the once mighty Reds into also rans, and last night he managed to lose to a QPR team featuring footballing greats such as Hill, Derry and Mackie. And why? Because he made five changes to a winning team, because he is a tactical numpty and because he is to motivation what Jimmy Savile was to children's television.

Benny will fix it? No chance!

  2. What a brilliantly balanced article. I must have dreamt him winning two La Liga titles and a UEFA Cup before he arrived at Liverpool and added the CL and FA Cup. Who on earth would want a manager like that in charge eh? Also no mention of the prevoius games that he won and the fact that Cech was singing his praises last week. But what would Cech know, he is only a pro footballer working under the guy. I just wish I had the intelligence to write such a well balanced article. Congratulations on your brilliant piece of work.

  4. Absolutely shocking - bringing a child abuser into a story about Rafa Benitez, what are those victims to make of associating a mere game and a serial sexual offender!

  5. This is a very disrespectful and ignorant post indeed. I only stumbled upon it on NewsNow, to my dismay.
Firstly is there any need at all for the Jimmy Savile reference, it doesn't even make sense. Cheap, puerile shot!
Benitez was very successful in the Spanish league winning La Liga twice when it is next to impossible to displace Madrid and Barcelona.
Your assessment of his tenure in Liverpool is completely wrong. Liverpool were a mess after years of mis-management and he took over and in his first season lead a very poor Liverpool side to European winners, and runners up two years later. Journeymen such as Smicer, Biscan and Traore have Champions league winners medals.
He was later clearly undermined by the owners of Liverpool and forced to sell both Alonso and Mascherano (world class players that he signed), but lets not forget that he built one of the best midfields in the world at the time.
In the year he was sacked, Liverpool finished 7th in the league, poor by their standards at the time, but I bet you'd take that at the end of the season.
Managing Chelsea is a poisoned chalice. Those are not his players, and he has no say in who they will buy. Just look at how they performed for AVB, compared to how the Spurs team is. Overpaid mercenaries just looking after themselves. And name me a manager in the league that hasn't lost to the bottom team at one time or another.
As a hammers fan, I'd look at your own mess first, I know who I'd want as a manager between Big "won nothing" Sam and Benitez. It's a no brainer, one has some of the most sought after winners medals in Europe and the other has well just a huge head and shouts a lot.
With all due respect, I'd suggest doing some research before simply resorting to primary school name calling.

  7. It's people like you that don't have a clue about football. I bet you weren't complaining when you beat Villa 8-0. Typical Chelsea fan... Clueless!

  8. This no-hoper has won two league titles, A UEFA Cup, Champions League, FA Cup, European super Cup (thrice). Been a losing finalist five times, lost a semi-final three times.
That's a better record than Chelsea have had in same amount of time.

  9. Well firstly Liverpool actually got to the final - seeing off Chelsea and an excellent Bayern Munich side in the process - this with inherited talen like Djimi Traore and Vlademir Smitzer inthe side! They then won the FA Cup the following year, and the year after made it to the Champioons League final again - and were arguably very unlucky not to win that day. 2 years later - and but for a wonder goal by an unknown Man United substitute at Aston Villa, Liverpool would probably have won the title. I seem to remember too that Benitez built a magnificanet Valencia team that won the Spanish League twice and the EUFA Cup.

However, as this post was by "hammersfan" I guess he can be excused not knowing what is going on outside of the relegation zone or Championship!

  10. You know he was the manager of Valencia that won La Liga. Twice. Right?

  11. Unlike most people I suspect that we need to be playing 11v11 because Torres is just the problem. Any decent striker would have netted twice against QPR in that first half. When crosses come they met no one. Well, Ba is here and when cech is back things will be set right again.

  12. Utter rubbish. With 5 changes, they still should have cruised to victory. These kinds of results happen every season. Man U lost to Wigan late last season which cost them the title. Did that make Ferguson a crap manager?

  13. Typical Chelsea fan? I haven't got a shaved head with fifteen rolls of fat on my neck!

  14. The game has moved on since Benny won titles with Valencia. Dear me, that's almost as long ago as the last Liverpool title!

  15. Obviously I understand the reason for the article but you're not really touching any raw nerves here. You need to be factually accurate with your insults.

Claiming Benitez turned the once mighty reds into also rans suggests you know absolutely nothing about football and makes you look a bit foolish to be honest.

Sure the comments come flooding in but these people are only laughing at you. Surely you don't get any satisfaction from that?

Your only saving grace is your reference to child abuse as I'm sure hundreds (myself included) would be genuinely offended by that.
