Leeds United's Becchio Slaps In Carefully Engineered Transfer Request

Well that has been engineered rather nicely hasn't it?

First Mick Jones says he is worried about bids for the better players in the squad, putting Becchio in the shop window.

Then Warnock blames the Argentine for the defeat at Barnsley, claiming the player's head wasn't right, thereby stirring up animosity amongst the fans and provoking the usual, "If he doesn't want to play for us he can bugger off!" comments.

And now the club have issued a formal statement saying, in effect, "Don't blame the Board, nasty, nasty Becchio wants to go. But we won't let him. Unless a big bad team bid enough money for him. And by the way, there's only one more year left on his contract so what can we do, we simply have to cash in, don't we?"

Leeds fans are being well and truly mugged off here, and not by Becchio. This was so easy to call from the moment that Jones was scripted to invite offers, conveniently whilst Old Big Gob was at home pulling a sicky.

Of course, some Leeds fans will still try to defend the Board, and Warnock, and the club. Fools. Bates and his buddies are taking you for a ride!

  5. For like the second time in a year I completely agree with you. One of the problems here is there doesn't appear to be an active Chairman with a voice at Leeds. It's almost as if Mick Jones is the manager and Warnock is the Chairman now. Then for Leeds to admit on their own website it's about finances - not exactly the best negotiating technique when you are trying to sign quality players. Don't they want good money as well??? LUFC close to becoming laughing stock of English football.

    1. close ? think we became that a long time ago , BIG changes still needed at ER

  6. As much as I think your an obsessed twat who should spend more time focusing on your own club - I tend to agree.

The writing was on the wall when Jones advertised becchio publicly, and then Warnock had the cheek to partly blame becchio for the barnsley result - maybe a check on tactics n player positioning is needed Neil!?

  7. I dont think there'll be many defending the board over this.. we have heard it all before MANY times over the last few seasons.. they'll sell him for a pittance at the 11th hour on the 31st with no replacement! No wonder GFH are getting the nickname GFHBates... & as to the fair play rules line - how can Leicester get away with (rumoured) 30k a week for Chris Woods? That's way beyond their turnover (excluding their sugar daddy's pockets)

  8. this leeds fan won't be defending bates & his buddies , i think for once you are spot on , i said at the time that jones had no reason to say what he said other than to alert clubs that they were ready to sell , i wouldn't be suprised if bates was a share holder in GFH

    ReplyDelete
  9. We dont need you to tell us that final sentence. Becchio owes Leeds nothing, good luck to him

    ReplyDelete
  10. Spot on again !!!

But like I've said before let him go coz he's not premiership class and even if we get £2million plus it's good money.

Fuck GFH wankers WTF is going on with our club ????

  15. Anybody who reads armchair hammers blogs is a twat and if the people who agree with him are infact real people, then they're even bigger twats. Perhaps walter mitty would like to update us on the person who had an 11am knock on the door from the cops the other morning also? You said you'd reported someone for making threats.

  16. Is this not pre GFH, Bates all over again, He has 50% shares in Leeds, Warnock hardly turns up for first team training, Bates pulling GFH puppets strings, and Byram training with under 18's why? and Tate sent back to Swansea because he told Wanker (warnock) just spelt it wrong what he thought. I have been a Leeds fan for over 45 yrs, and never seen anything like this last 8 yrs of Bates control.

  17. We'll be Defending the board and defending Warnock?!?! Its obvious you spend most of your time researching latest Leeds related news stories in an attempt to write more regurgitated articles about us - to get more traffic, however - you need to do more research, all Leeds fans are doing at the mo is ....moaning about the board and moaning about warnock... get with the program!

    ReplyDelete
  18. great to see you've written nothing about west ham getting hammered the other night! stick to your guns mate and keep on writing about leeds, you wont get any traffic from hammers fans, there's not many of em about..

    ReplyDelete
  19. Warnock for England ! Wonderful management and motivational skills ? Such style and polish.Class act ? Seems some of you were right,as he did get his previous 43 clubs promoted.

How will we keep him ? Will we lose him to west ham if they ever start to play football again ?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think you have got to look at it from Becchio's perspective. hes 29 years old and has played over 200 games for Leeds over 4 years as some people have said he owes the club nothing. Whats wrong with the lad wanting a pay rise coming to the twilight part of his career, good luck to him. Yes i agree Leeds could have handled it better. Warnock goes at the end of the season do you honestly think GFH are gonna splash the cash for a manager who leaves in just over 4 months, think about it, its not rocket science. W.A.C.C.O.E.

    ReplyDelete
  21. good result for the hammers last night ?

    ReplyDelete
  22. For once a sensible article and I fully agree with its content..

This stinks of Bates and I dont care what anyone says GFH is Bates why the hell else would they keep this paracite around and give him a lifelong presidency... He has written his own script here and laughing at all of us moronic mugs.. GFN silence is deafening...

    ReplyDelete
  23. completely agree with the above. will be a last monute sell on 31st and we will probably be spoon fed some usual rubbish such as 'bagging Dindane on a freebie' to replace. either that or Warnock will probably put Tonge and Varney up front. sigh. same old story these days

    ReplyDelete
  24. Even Warlock tryed to mug the fans........Leaving him out of the team then asking the players to play ball to feet.Where better with out him just look how we play the beautiful game.Total shafters all on the pay wagon for a ride into the sunset, leaving behind a club in ruin,s.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Agree with you and what will happen next is obj we don't have time now to get a decent replacement so we will just bank the money for now and starry to build again in the summer but guess what come the summer nothing but more dross will be loaned to us as we never seem to buy anymore

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yep. That about sums it up.

  27. you are right
    thanks for the support...
Your prediction from a few weeks ago has come true!

  28. Did Warnock not say you cannot do business in January because clubs are not selling..........unless of course its Leeds. Anyway lets get back to last night at the Emirates!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Good luck Beccs on your new venture. Business is business football no different. You play well score a few goals your stock goes up good lad go and get that money at a club that is prepared to pay you. You never know when your careers going to be over. Truth is we all want more money for our respective employment. All the other terms that come with it just bonuses along the way.
Another good post HF. Bates still captain of the Titanic im afraid its all sad really. Champions Europe Champions Europe lets face it we have huge great History but just that History!! Sack the fucking lot of them bring on thr kids please

    ReplyDelete
  30. Moving on will probably his last chance to earn a decent wage. He's served our club well while watching all the quality being sold off around him. Good luck to him.

    Sam Byram next!

    ReplyDelete
  31. A wet spam fan talking about being "mugged off"? HA HA! After watching how Arsenal dismantled and destroyed the bubble-blowers last night, I'd imagine he must know all too well how that feels!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Word round the campfire is he's been lured to china ,if thats the case we can get him back on afree in six months when he gets sick of sucking on chickens feet

    ReplyDelete
  33. Can't blame becchio,he's probably had enough of this shite same as us!
Bates is still pulling the strings,he will be sold for undisclosed fee as norm,
Then well here some bullshit about just missing out on players!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would love to be able to argue with you but you are absolutely right and so are the Leeds fans who have commented. Warnock, his assisstant and the Board are treating Leeds fans like idiots. Trust me, they will be in for a shock very soon when fans vote with their feet. On another note, I've paid about 30 quid per game x 2 as a season ticket holder and am told I could get in the ground for 15 quid now, more good news at ER!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Good luck to him he has done alot for Leeds
How long will lufc carry on!!!!!!!'

    ReplyDelete
  36. Why aren't GFH able to afford higher wages? They are investors and will need to pay dividends that's why. Asset strip the club and sell it for what they can get. Leeds are consigned to the history books with no future to look forward to. Warnock is effectively managing a club slipping into administration as every day goes by. GFH are completely useless! Boycott the games until they have gone! They couldn't run a piss up in a brewery!

    ReplyDelete
  37. He wouldn't want to leave if he thought Leeds would get to the prem I bet warnock is shitting himself he can't use his old tactics of boot the ball up field he will have to get team to play football !!!!!!! That will be 2 strikers he needs to find makes you wonder if anybody will come in at all

    ReplyDelete
  38. A few things to address here. To those agreeing, I feel genuine sympathy, and I can't believe I'm writing that. I detest Leeds United, and every thing associated with Leeds United, but I understand the passion and hurt of true fans. Rival fans don't antagonise me, never could. Of course they mouth off about West Ham but so what, that's what rivals fans do isn't it? And I would never let rival fans see that they have got on my goat. But when a rival fan is on the mark, and I find myself saying, yep, that is true, my club is shit, that really hurts. Respect to all those who have done it.

West Ham lost 5-1 at Arsenal last night. So what? Arsenal are a bigger club and better team. No argument there. Yes it hurt watching it, as it would hurt watching your child fail an exam, but it hurts much more when my club fails against a shit team. And, I'll be honest here, if I supported Leeds, 75 teams in the Prem + Football League would be regarded as shit teams. Lose players to Norwich? I would want to open my wrists. Hear my manager justifying a defeat at Barnsley? Time to rip out my guts!

I can't say Leeds United deserve better, for me that's like saying Jack the Ripper merits sympathy, but Bates and GFH Capital are taking the piss out of genuine fans who deserve better. I don't offer my sympathy, that would be disrespectful and condescending, but I feel your pain.

    1. And with regard to the arrest, you will read about it when it comes to court. Arrests under caution are not notified to the police as a rule. All I know is that one individual has been charged and others may follow. I have no idea where the individual lives, he/she may be local to the Leeds area or not, I have not been informed.

    3. Everyone needs to calm down. We live in the age of greed...I stay an optimistic Leeds fan. Becchio finds the taget yes and also has piss poor games...

This Blogger Hammersfan for all this latest moral clap trap incites us. Thats his goal. Never trust a person who admits he loathes this club. He does not understand the ownership , the structure the debt the wealth or the ambition of Leeds. I for one see us on a five year plan. We were League 1 for three seasons guys, come on. We're not succeeding at the spped we would like but we're not failing

      Delete
    4. You feel our pain? The only pain Leeds supporters are feeling is the one you are trying to put upon them with your wind ups!
The only truth written in this calculated piece of crap is that you loath and detest everything about Leeds. This makes everything you ever say tainted and calculated.
Remember his Christmas wishes Leeds fans? Wishing us back to the premiership where we belong?
This statement is simply more mind games.
Don't let this self confessed puppet master fool you for a moment.
His biggest fear is what would hurt him the most and could very likely happen. Leeds go up and West Ham go down. What would he do then? MOT

67 caps for the Ivory Coast - super player.

Maxi is coming back soon so let the good times roll and keep blowing those bubbles & knees up mother brown.

Warnock's warriors will rise above this - the clenched fist chest beating salute & deafening chants of MOT - WE ARE LEEDS WE ARE LEEDS !!

Meanwhile the UK's loneliest blogger has launched a campaign to get a 20% discount on a new armchair after tearing out the stuffing of his current chair when his team were themselves getting a stuffing up at Arsenal.

  47. Hi guys, the missing 6500 is increasing daily BUT we get silence from Haigh/Patel/Bates/Harvey.
Something is not quite right at ER, NW said things would change at the January window, they have, for the worse, NO cash signings , NO message from GFH, NO message of any real substance from NW.
But why take us over if its Bates rule by a different name?
The proposed meet and greet evening with the new owners will be the only sold out event at ER for a long while.
We have been taken for mugs, NOT A PENNY MORE, the club is dying before our eyes.............

GFH stay quiet while the old goat whispers....their only moron,s just keep taking the money. Its a sad state of affairs leading to a stand off between the fans and them.....All bad for a great club,no matter who you support i would,nt wish these chancers on anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  53. If we can get £2million plus for becchio that would be a good sell. Hes far too hit and miss. with 18months on his contract left we should get more than that. It does seem though financially, we are still just your average championship side if not worse. Its about time some real investment starts to happen. the only way the club is going to make money is buy spending money to get to the top.. leeds are always good at bringing talent through the ranks, new talent chris dawson looking promising for next season for sure... write this season off, invest in summer, get warnock out, id like to see dennis bergkamp or gus poyet managing leeds, someone who plays the football we desire to watch....

  55. I think debate is healthy, everyone has a point of view and no one is forced to read what is written on this blog, and if you don’t like the comments made by the originator (or anyone else for that matter) by all means put your point across by reasoned argument, as most normal adults do. Why is it that some people feel that they can only make a point by being abusive or threatening? All they are doing is providing ammunition to those who already have a dim view of Leeds fans to claim that we are just a bunch of uneducated morons who can’t put a point across without using obscenities and personally attacking the author. If you look on your computer there is a facility to help you choose words if you’re not smart enough to know any decent ones! Of course the Hammers man is winding you all up, that’s what it’s all about, but wouldn’t it make more sense to respond sensibly and without profanity. Good Luck to Becchio, he’s 29 and if he can end his career with a bit more cash in the bank why not.

  56. So much for your supposed expensive education. You sound like a little boy with your silly hatred of all things Leeds.Impotent hatred is ridiculous and is recognised as the worst human emotion.(Google Goethe)You hate a football club and everything about it.Does this make you sound like a hard man ? Pathetic and childish. All football clubs are a variation of a theme, so you are not a true football fan then.

Grow up and get therapy.Telling complete strangers that you have more money than them is equally disturbed. Also the jet set go to Switzerland / U.S.A at this time of year, not Rumania and brag about 50p pints of beer.I am convinced there are more brains in a small pork pie than you have.
