Warnock Buys Time At Leeds But Where Was Becchio?

Hmmm. Conspiracy theorists were tripping over themselves last night when the want away Argentine Becchio failed to travel with the team. He was in Bournemouth, according to some, watching his next club Wigan play.

Oh no he wasn't Old Big Gob exclaimed, he was at home, sick. Sick of being blamed by Warnock for the team's failings perhaps? Sick of carrying the team on his back and receiving no thanks for it maybe? Sick of earning sub standard wages possibly? Sick of the Championship maybe?

One thing is odd. Why did Becchio text a club official to advise that he was at home and not Warnock or Jones? Wouldn't that be the normal route? Or simple courtesy? Warnock could then have taken his mobile to the post match press conference, like he did his laptop after the Barnsley defeat, and show the world the evidence.

Instead the rumours persist, taking the gloss off an excellent Leeds victory at struggling Birmingham.

Anyway, we move on, maybe together with Becchio, maybe not. The monkey of poor away form has been killed off and Leeds have proved that they can win without Becchio anyway. In fact selling the Argentine may now be presented as the road to the Prem - more mobile forward line, shared responsibility, Super Somma and all that.

Where's Wallecchio? Who cares?

  6. Oh I bet you were rubbing your little manhood with glee at the thought of posting this eh hf? I guess you might as well get all your sacrasm out of your system today, as no doubt tomorrow you'll more than likely be all quiet after tonight's FA Cup exit.

  7. Funny thing about strikers (maybe just at Leeds) but when Beckford was here he was labelled as 'Billy Big Boots' with an attitude problem and described as lazy...on the same lines Becchio is slagged off for going down too easy, not winning enough in the air, having a poor first touch with no pace. Its only when we look as if there is a real chance of losing them that we appreciate not just how many goals they have scored but more importantly how many match winning goals they have scored. I don't listen to other teams supporters or read their forums/bloggs etc but wondered whether this is unique to Leeds fans or if all fans were as fickle on strikers?
You may have called this one correctly HF, afterall he wouldn't be the first player to be missing through ill health just before departing for another club.

After 40 years plus watching Leeds the disappointments no longer hurt...

  8. Confused.Com Are you a Leeds fan or Hammers

Bech can go for us, 4 million we should snap their hand off, good luck to him, but in fairness he's not the best, yes having a decent season and a work horse but let him go and I would think most fans would not be too bothered as they have been with other players going.

  9. They won't sack warnock I'm affraid and as for becchio if he wants to go just simply let him, IMO I don't think he's good enough for the premiership like beckford wasn't , no player is bigger than lufc
    MOT

You have mentioned Watford once, Swindon nil and Leeds and Warnock about 20 times this month. Pillock.

  15. No west ham blog since sunday? A plumb F,A Cup tie tonight and all you can do is vainly attempt to wind up Leeds fans. You should be ashamed of yourself. There are 3 west ham fans dying to read your expert armchair opinions.

  16. I enjoy reading your blog but can't you turn the comments section off so we don't have to read the abusive rubbish that comes back from most Leeds fans? Sensible comments seem to be few and far between.
