Who is the mystery man buying shares in Leeds?

It's like an Agatha Christie novel isn't it? Somebody is buying shares in Leeds United, but in the new era of openness and honesty instigated following the resignation of Master Bates from the Board, nobody is allowed to know who.

Apparently, the shares have been acquired by Board members, narrowing the field, and assurances have been given that Big Bad Ken no longer has a finger in the Leeds pie. But why keep it all hush hush? Apparently it's all to do with confidentiality clauses and GFH Capital and Leeds United are big on those, as we discovered during the long, protracted take over.

So, not only do Leeds fans not know who will be in the team next year, nor how much will be made available to Nice Guy Brian for recruiting new players, they don't know who owns the club either!

It's all a bit rich isn't it? Or not if you look at GFH's accounts!

  5. Financial regulations clearly state that declaration of ownership in any business only has to be made over a set level.

This purchase is well below that level so why should the buyers be treated any differently to other investors in other businesses

  9. worrying times ahead with these crooks. I cannot see a good future for Leeds Utd. I have watched since 1968, however cannot go on much longer, Leeds have fallen so far behind the elite we will never catch up again. Very sad indeed

  11. hammer, you are actually right, all us proper leeds are in the dark and seems always will be, all i hope is that we keep all this good youth we have and bring them in gradually, then maybe in 3 or 4 years they can take our great but fundless club back to prem, most fans think we going to buy this player and that player whom can get us promoted, that aint going to happen, giant club but definatley championship for the next few years, oh and give manager that llong too

  14. So the directors have faith in leeds by buying shares surley that's a good thing .And by the way its only 3.33 percent not exactly forcing a takeover and getting your knickers in a twist about.

  18. Which Agatha Christie novel? Daft lad, run along back to your bedroom, the big boys aren't interested in your juvenile ramblings. Try and avoid subjects you have insufficient intelligence to engage in.
