A new crest? Everton fans have more important things to worry about!

How laughable, with QPR's 'Arry linked with Everton, the Toffee fans have got their knickers in a twist over a change to the club's crest! Wake up guys, there are bigger issues confronting your club!

Unless Moyes has made a pact, the biggest concern should be that the likes of Baines, Fellani, and Howard could be off to Manchester United.

Then there's the little matter of not having a manager lined up to replace Moyes. Everybody knew the guy was going, so why the hell wasn't his replacement sorted months back? The latest suggestion is 'Arry, and if he gets the job, it's not the crest the fans have to worry about, it's the bloody family silver!

Mind you, if 'Arry does get the job the crest should be redesigned again. Put a dog with two dicks in the window of that tower with Inland Revenue investigators at the bottom looking up forlornly!

  1. Managers come and go, players come and go. We might be stuck with that bloody crest for years. That's why people are upset. We're used to players going. We all fear who the next manager will do. The introduction of the new badge is another in the long line of bad decision by the people running the club.

  3. Shut the fuck up dickhead. Dont try to tell us what we should worry about. You know nothing so keep your stupid opinions to yourself. Its a nothing story from a nothing writer

  5. So you think a possible short term issue with a few players is more important than your teams badge?. Not been a football fan long then?. Sooner we get the Sky money out of football and get away from 10 minute 'fans' the better!

    1. Ask Cardiff if they would rather have their blue kit or be in the Prem. It's hardly a massive change to the crest is it? Clubs change kit EVERY season, why wet yourself over removing a couple of squiggles from the badge? Like the post says, there are bigger things to worry about.

    2. Knowing a few Cardiff fans I'd say there'd be a pretty big split of opinion on that one. Just as I know City fans who cant take pleasure in watching their club lift bought trophies. They tend to be the older fans who'd been with the club through thick and thin though...not the ten minute wonders who dont remember anything but the Prem.

Clubs change the kit every season not their badge. The badge is the symbol of the club....its what a fan rallies to and identifies with. Our commercial arm has just taken down the thing that represented what we followed and replaced it with a cheap, nasty, cartoon version of itself. If it was a more dignified badge maybe it would be something that wouldnt have caused so much issue...Evertonians understand the need for change...in fact we've been screaming for it for the last decade or so.

Tts not a dignified badge though in fact it has no class at all. It looks like something thats taken a Marketing trainee 10 minutes with MS Paint to throw together...its that casual disrespect as much as the amateurish product which causes the issue.

Squiggles on a badge?. Your problem is that you dont understand words like respect, class, history and dignity. There are plenty of clubs with plastic fans...a couple of big ones in London that play in blue and red respectively amongst them...I have never encountered a Hammers fan that didnt prize those words though. Sad that has changed.

  7. Reading this I think 2248 is absolutely spot on. No disrespect but because West Ham don't really have any history (trophies etc) to speak off it is difficult or impossible for someone like you to relate to the significance of a badge, shirt colour or ground even. I take your coming move to the OS as a classic example. All you Hammers can think off is the reduced rent, increased capacity and hope that it might eventually enable you to compete with the big boys for the first time. It almost as if Upton Park never existed and that appears to suit you all to a tee. I see striking similarities wih Chelsea and start of the Abramovich years.

Unfortunately with plastic fans like you this is what football has become. Suddenly it has nothing to do with factors like the size and passion of the fan base but which rich billionaire who has absolutely no affinity will take over the club next (or in your case a state hand out). I say good on the Toffees for standing up for what matters the most.
