So Who Does Warnock Want To Manage Leeds? Apart From Warnock?

How arrogant is the guy? Old Big Gob has royally screwed up at Leeds, achieving no progress whatsoever in the 15 or so months that he has been at the club, but he still thinks he should have a say in who replaces him - if not the King, he wants to be the King maker at least.

But based on what credentials exactly? Most would agree that Warnock belongs to a different era: like Allardyce, he is an anachronism, a throw back to the bad old days when "Lump and charge!" were considered sophisticated tactics. Quite why he feels qualified to anoint his replacement is beyond me.

But he wants to leave his mark behind - or stain if we are honest. Like a dog that pees to identify his territory, Warnock wants to leave his scent upon the corridors at Elland Road. He's missed out on that statue so he wants to donate a stink instead.

And who might he favour? How about Brown who must be old enough to hang up his boots now and who would be a chip off the Warnock block as a manager - pugnacious, in the face of the players and media alike, bringing all his destructive expertise to the management table.

What Warnock wants is a man who will respect his legacy, a man who will treasure the OAPs in his squad and who will speak highly of the man who has handed over the reins. Mark Hughes rubbished him when he took charge at QPR, and Warnock's pride is still smarting. The best way to preserve his personal reputation is for an old mucker to fill his Elland Road slippers!

  9. quite a considered post ,for a change. Warnock should have no input at all regarding any future manager . he's turned the club into a circus ,run by clowns. if he had any pride he'd have walked away 5pm saturday.

    1. And the score when Leeds played Chelsea at Elland Road was what exactly? I think West Ham drew 3-3 on aggregate over two games with a side assembled at the cost of God knows what.

  20. I wonder if there's anybody on the Leeds blog that writes continually about West Ham? Don't think so. Do you promise to leave us when Warnock does?

  21. When are the Leeds fans going to rise up and protest and let all the old boys know how we feel? Harvey, Lorrimer, Bates and Colin should be axed with one fell swoop. As a season ticket holder and lifelong fee payer I am surprised that the fans haven't mounted a full protest against the lot of them. It's almost as though we, the fans, have lost heart having suffered so much over the years and that our resolve has truly been broken by people with only self interest. It’s absolute right that we remained loyal and silent whilst there was still a chance left for promotion but it’s over, well and truly and now is the time for voices to be heard at the ground not on a West Ham blog.

    1. I have sympathy with your view point but must disagree on a couple of points. Firstly, complicity in the name of loyalty is misguided. Had you lot spoken out earlier, things might now be different. Why wait for the horse to bolt before closing the stable door. I was warning last summer that the season ahead was going to be one of abject failure, and what did I get? Abuse. Had you lot found your voice then, perhaps you might now be looking forward to a season in the Prem next year.

Secondly, you are still showing blind faith. What about GFH Capital? Their record so far is every bit as bad as Warnock's. You lot need to be making your feelings known on the role of the owners too. Otherwise, whoever replaces Warnock will be faced with an unenviable task.

And thirdly, this is not a West Ham blog. I have one of those. I am, first and foremost, a West Ham fan, but I am a fan of the game of football too. As I say earlier, had you lot listened and responded appropriately when I first turned my attention to Leeds, things might now be better. Instead you shoved your heads up your arses with your fingers in your ears and termed the aroma of shit a divine perfume.

Pray tell me, what was I wrong about? Has Warnock delivered? No. Has a mega rich Arab bank bought you? No. Has Master Bates gone? No. Did you retain Snodgrass? No. Did you retain Becchio? No. Were Warnock's signings atute? No. Have you stormed the division? No. Are you going to make the playoffs? Almost certainly no.

    2. Abjact failure? What a complete load of crap. Leeds had no money and were sold in December. Warnock did as well as he could with what he had to back him up. His signings were a mixed bag.I believe some will prove to be astute, rather than atute ( Warnock and Morison in particular)
Leeds had 3 seasons in League 1 and now have a foundation to go up next season.
Pray tell what you were wrong about? Too many to list in truth. For one thing you included Bolton Blackburn and Boro as certainties for promotion this year.

    3. I'm sure you'll agree that the points raised in the last paragrah are a very small, selective (and DOWNRIGHT TWISTED) percentage of total 'predictions' made by your good self over the last 6 months though.

    4. Sadly HF, once again, I cant argue with anything you've said. There is non so blind as those that cant see.

    5. No I wouldn't Dave. How are they twisted exactly? As for what I have got wrong, I did not call Boro, Blackburn and Bolton "certainties" for promotion. Very early in the season I said Leeds were chasing a single play off place and I was asked to identify five teams who would finish in the top six and someone, perhaps you, has kept my prediction. I know it included Forest, Leicester, Cardiff and Blackpool - and I think Blackpool would still have been involved if Holloway had not defected to Palace. I probably did mention Bolton and Blackburn and maybe even Boro. But I wouldn't be surprised personally if Bolton slip into sixth place. And I think Blackburn would be much closer but for the Cup run. Boro could yet make it too, of course.

Palace and Watford took me by surprise, but that's why Leeds are in tenth, not seventh or eighth.

Anyway, Leeds still have an outside chance of finishing sixth, which way back in September I said was the best they could hope for. So I was wrong about what exactly

  22. Spot on Hf,back too being more sensible.Colin's ego is so big he thinks he's been a great manager for us.....I beg to differ!Shite tactics, average players(he signed),and a terrible win ratio!"We have got rid of the deadwood" he says and replaced it with more!!! MOT

  23. What a ridiculous response! This is not about you and your views, opinions or predictions and clearly, like Warnock you are so full of your own self importance that you have missed the point entirely. Why on earth would loyal supporters demonstrate their feelings against new owners and a new manager without giving them the opportunity to make it work just because a non descript supporter of a largely insignificant London club says so? My point is (and I will type slowly so that you can understand), we have given both GFH, Warnock and the entire crew a chance, it hasn’t worked, now is the time to make our feelings known.
