Opportunity Knocks for Warnock and Leeds

This weekend represents a great opportunity for Leeds to get back into the promotion mix. The game at home to Huddersfield is eminently winnable, and meanwhile, all the teams chasing a play off place have much harder fixtures on paper: Nottingham Forest travel to Hull; Brighton host Palace; Leicester have a derby at Derby; Bolton journey to Ipswich; and Middlesbrough host Birmingham.

Paul Green reckons Leeds could be just two points behind the playoff pack come the end of the weekend, and to be in with a serious chance of making it to the Prem, they need to be.

First things first, of course, Leeds have to beat Huddersfield. That should be a formality even with the injuries. Then if the other results fall right, that statue of Warnock may be recommissioned!

  1. Are u having a laugh cockney boy.in my eyes the peterboro game was a home banker.since ur stating to turn into a little john motson, these last few wks,i want u to find out,how many derby matches we have won in last few years.i think u might find,we tend to go missing....when the going gets tough, leeds tend to bottle it....lets hope ur right for a change, and we grab the 3 points, and march closer to the promised land.

  3. Forget about the statue. Leeds utd´s season is like a dead bird in the air, it just has to hit the ground with a thump.Leeds need 23 points from 9 games, they have averaged 13 from 9 games during the season.

  5. It certainly won't be a formality and I can't see many goals in it tbh.

This is a massive game for the Huddersfield players/fans and second only to the game at their place as the biggest game of their season. A real cup final for them.

In fact, if you were to ask any GENUINE Huddersfield fan they would say they would rather beat Leeds and get relegated than lose to us and stay up. Irrational I know but this is the problem we face with a lot of clubs (prob not as much as Huddersfield though)and one of the reasons we've been unable to get back into the top flight for the last 9 years.

Yes I expect us to win but dont underestimate Huddersfield tomorrow.

  6. HF, you must be going a bit soft as the season comes to its final stages. What no dig at Warnock, no sarcastic dig at our great supporters, no dig at the age of the team. What's happened either you have just had a nice portion at home or you have just come off Red Tube a relieved man if you know what i mean, wink wink say no more.
