Has Aston Villa's Fabian Delph Nailed The Reason For Leeds Decline?

Interesting that Fabian Delph is complaining that the game has become "too technical" after collecting his tenth booking of the season.

He reckons that the referees have gone soft and the game has become "boring" now that it is more technical and players are not allowed to risk breaking each others' legs with reckless challenges.

Mind you, he has cleaned up his act since leaving Leeds! The former White claimed, "I was probably worse when I was at Leeds". Well there's a surprise! The Dirty Dirty Don Revie tradition survived right the way through to the Leeds youth team in the C21st then!

In fact, you can hear the spirit of Charlton, Hunter, Bremner and Giles when Delph complains, "No-one is allowed to kick anyone these days!" It's just not fair is it Fabian? The poor boy has to unlearn everything he was taught at Leeds!

No wonder Leeds seem to be in terminal decline. How can a club imbued with the tactics of Revie and managed by Old Big Gob Warnock hope to survive in this namby pamby era?

Yes Leeds are a big club, big like the dinosaurs!

  7. In the 60s and 70s every club had its "Norman Hunters" but people like you choose to focus on the exagerated negatives because it suits you.... This myth actually eminates from simple jealousy and resentment similar to that which helped create the idiom "Fergie Time" about Manchester Uniteds apparantly magical ability to score in extra time..... its just a symptom of resentment.....

The Fact is that Don Revies team was one of the most gifted teams in european history. People like you have no real knowledge of that time but cling to false labeling created by other people at the time (Like Emelyn brain up my backside Hughes)....who just resented that a bunch of yorkshiremen came in and upset the apple cart....

  8. "Leeds is a big club" not "Leeds are a big club"...if you're going to correct all of my brothers from Super LUFC then the least you could do is set a better example for us all to follow. Thanks.

    ps. You're a twat.

  9. grow up you silly boy. 3-4 articles per day, just to think you're getting a rise out of people. It is really very sad, and actualy extremely odd. Get a life - do something useful for once.

  10. As a Villa fan commenting, I can say this is true.
Delph came in with a rep as a tough tackler and had to be told by the coaching staff to calm it down in training, in case he injured somebody.
A few months later, he crocked himself in a tackle.

Regardless, he is correct, in that it's a namby-pamby game these days and the only "crazy" part is that you think it should be a non-contact game for a load of puffs.
Nani's sending off proved what a joke the game is becoming, in that he had his eyes on the ball and it was more clumsy than intentional, hence justifying a yellow and a bollocking/last warning, no more.

That said, well done for getting a response out of me, which was no doubt the intention.

  11. Couldn't remember West Ham ever beating Leeds. Decided to look up the stats. 39 wins over the so called Hammers, 13 defeats. Best most of the Hammers' wins were back in the mists of time.

  20. Charlton, Hunter, Bremner and Giles played 40 years before Delph. Delph was in the third Division when he played for Leeds.

Think of these two extremes and then think about how desperate your shit stirring is becoming where you have to come up with this.

Can you not get through a single day without thinking of something to say to try and aggrevate the Leeds Supporters?
Retorical question I know so I put it to you that this is not even slightly clever and really really childish and above all else, boring.
Hows West Ham getting on?..Oh ,trying to avoid the drop... Hmm...Must be interesting supporting them.

  21. Dirty leeds.everbody hates us cos of the revie team.sure they were a hard team, but boy could they play.when they beat southampton 7 nil.the football shown was bettered only by the current barcelona team.did west ham ever play like that.fucking no is the answer cockney boy.

  22. As a player Delph will never be good enough to come anywhere near the quality of Hunter, Bremner and Giles.

  23. Copy and paste and copy and paste and copy and paste. I personally think delph is better as an attacking midfielder and is wasted in a deeper role. But anyway hf,get looking for the next interview to copy and paste

  27. If dirty means passion if dirty means commitment and if dirty means not being pushed around in a "mans" game then dead right revie's team were dirty in a era that you either stood up for yourselves or got pushed around then they did that in spades
