Could Millwall loanee Morison be sent back early to Leeds?

Ouch. Literally. The Welsh Goal Machine that is Steve Morison faces surgery on an abdominal injury which, depending on the recuperation time, could see him sent back to Leeds and back on to the wage bill.

With the Reverend McDermott already under pressure to reduce that wage bill, this is the last thing Leeds need. Even when fully fit, Morison isn't wanted, so imagine the chagrin at the thought of paying him wages inflated by a stint in the Prem, whilst he lies on the treatment table cuddling a stuffed sheep.

Nice Guy Brian is still keen to sign one more player - a wide man it seems rather than an out and out striker - and is desperate to free up some wages by offloading unwanted players. The trouble is, Old Big Gob Warnock offered a comfortable resting place to a whole host of washed up journeymen, and nobody else seems keen to give them an alternative home.

After the excellent win at Ipswich and an impressive start to the season, the last thing McDermott wants is pressure to part with a first pick player to ease the financial pressures at the club. Miserablebrough are still hovering!

  2. Well during the "recuperation" time his wages are insured for so that would be no extra cost to Leeds. Dependant on the terms of his loan contract with Millwall which I believe were for a term of 12 months he would return there in line with the said contract once "recuperated" minus the stuffed sheep...

  3. Another uninformed article.

He's on a season long loan, he can't be sent back. Millwall will have to take the hit.

  4. Unfortunately spam dangler, I think this might be the first time I've said this but you might be right, we might get stuck with Morrison and his wages depending on how long the recovery takes! That could blow the signing of a winger out of the water, hope not! Looks like there is interest in aidy white, so if we can offload a couple hopefully it won't push us back a step!

  5. Do you know how loan deals work? It was for the year so they have to pay for the year no matter what the injury. It's like giving a player a one year contract for him to then break a leg!!

  6. To be honest I was one of those who always admired morison in his first stint at millwall , I was looking forward to seeing if he could recapture that form with Leeds , but alas he was not the same player , now we can't put all that down to being unhappy up north because the guy obviously has a problem requiring surgery,, but as much as you are desperate for Ross mac to go to boro , its not going to happen mockney boy

  9. Season long loan HF, insurance will cover the gap - either theirs or ours. Wishful thinking by HF.

HF really doesn't get the Leeds financial situation. GFH are an investment bank. They have no money of their own. They do, however, have access to lots of it. It is their job to protect their asset and, prudently, improve it and hence increase it's value. Think it through HF. As desperate as you are to see RM go so that you can have a bitchy little gloat, it's not going to happen. Get over it man. Leeds are more likely to sign a winger or loan one than let RM go. Watch this space.

  11. theres nothing wrong with morison. its all a cover up for him to return to our club and replace McCormack who is going to Spurs for £25 million to replace Bale. morison will score 28 goals for us, get us promoted but the fans will still not like him so he will be sold to west ham for £24.95 plus a years supply of jellied eels. "big sam" will get the sack for getting west ham into Europe but not winning the league. he will replace "big joe" at Newcastle as director of dieting and "big joe" will replace "tall joe" in goal at man city while "tall joe" goes on gardening leave to sort his dandruff problem out. so there you go, I hope this bollox is as good bollox as hammersfan produces every day for you. hope you enjoyed my first try at bollox. Cheers.
