Leeds at 16-1 to win Championship and Watford 14-1!

Wow, what a bet. Betfair are offering 16-1 on Leeds to win the Championship next season. That surely has to be worth a flutter. Mind you, Watford look tasty too at 14-1, providing they have any players left following the closing of the Lend Lease loophole and the implementation of the transfer embargo.

Get your money on, those prices surely won't last, especially once GFH Capital start splashing the cash on Nice Guy Brian's transfer targets!

  6. For an even better flutter, why not stick a few quid on west ham to finish in the top 4 at 5000 - 1? Get in quickly though folks as the odds are sure to tumble when their 31 year old Romanian galactico signs and they shoot up the premier league like a Ratzan up a drainpipe.

  7. West Ham 2000/1 to win premiership.
Astoundingly 100/1 to finish in top 4.
Best bet would be 8/1 to be relegated methinks?

    1. LOL What price are Leeds to win the Premiership? You have to be in it to win it!

West Ham are 8.2 to go down. Very poor bet, especially when Hull and Palace are heavy odds on and Cardiff are strong third favourites. 3.35 for West Ham to finish in top ten. If that goes out to 4.5 it would be worth a nibble.

Here's an interesting punt though - Leeds are 3.5 for a top 6 finish. Now that looks like money for old rope. Or old nags in the case of Leeds!

    2. Well stick the house on w,ham to finish in a top 4 spot. They're certainly in it to win it. Sams SHREWdish forays into the european transfer market just can't be ig-GNAWED. Ratman,Ratman,ra ra ra. Well done in beating off strong competion in Barnet to get Ratzan though, did Glen Rodent recommend him?

  8. 'Betfair' don't offer odds

It's a betting exchange where individual punters offer odds

  9. Ive heard that you are 1,000/1 to lose your virginity before the new season starts and a tasty 5,000/1 to post something about our club that is interesting, relevant or we didn't already know.

  10. Watford to win the Championship? You must be having a giraffe! We won't have ANY decent players left after the loan 'loophole' is closed, and won't be able to buy anyone, anyway, because of the transfer embargo until 31st August(although we CAN with league approval), and because the transfer window closes then(although this year it will be open until Sept 2nd).
Surely, with our '3 sided' ground, we wouldn't be allowed into the Prem anyway.
It looks like the 'One Season Wonders' will probably re relegated by Christmas - great news for 'football purists' and those who say we have 'cheated'!
I wouldn't be surprised if the powers that be close us down before the season's out anyway, if we start to do well. Why would they want the likes of us doing well in the Championship?
What, little old Watford?! It's fine when we're bumping along in the lower half of the table, or doing ok in League 1, but 'they' wouldn't want us to succeed. Everyone's fave club (remember Elton?) - until they start to do well.....

    Stop Press!!
But things ARE different now. We ARE going to succeed - there has been a sea-change in our status. We are going to put a few noses out of joint on the way. If not 13/14, then 14/15 I reckon, but we WILL be in the Prem.
(Maybe 14/1 is worth a punt after all!)

    1. Yes but what an amazing price given you finished third and only missed out on promotion because a geriatric striker netted an extra time penalty. You Watford fans should be piling on at that price if you believe what you claim to believe, that Udinese will just give you all the players you've had on loan, or the Pozzos will pay themselves for them, opening another can of worms!

      Delete
    2. Why not? The Premier League continues to be a money making machine (whether that's a good thing, or not), and purely in business terms, the Pozzos must see that is where their football priorities should be.

  11. Hey hammers fan you've as much chance as a non league team winning the prem.
    super Leeds will be back.

  12. 9.43. Hammer fraud wants Caroll to stay but apparently he's demanding that Liverpool pay a portion of his wages as w,ham haven't a pot to piss in until they sell Tomkins to the Toon. Being the major influence in British football that hammer fraud is,it's just a matter of time before they cave in. The clubs agreed a fee over a fortnight ago and Caroll still hasn't signed on the dotted line. Why could this be? Surely he wants to be in it to win it with the mighty hammers this season?

  16. There's more chance of an ice shortage in the North Pole, then Leeds going up.

Might as well be 1,60000-1. You will still lose your money.

  17. Little tip for you hammer fraud. Don't bother correcting grammar on a football blog, especially when you refer to an earlier poster as a pedant. Otherwise you'll look an even bigger and sadder twat.

  20. What price LU and WHU being in the same league season after next?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Thanke for reminding LU fans of this improvement.

    ReplyDelete
  22. How can you associate yourself with WHU who facilitate fans who are anti semitic. I don't know how charges against supporters and the club have not been made for the inexcusable incident in the WHU v Spurs game last November. I also don't know how your neighbours Millwall and some of there fans have also got away with charges after clear TV evidence of racial abuse in the Millwall v LU game in the same month. I would like to hear your views on these incidents.

    1. As I have put on record before, I would insist the club deals with it or deduct points. And yes, I would deduct points from West Ham as soon as the supporters hissed to simulate gas chambers. And I would deduct points from Leeds as soon as your fans behaved as they did at the Sheffield Wednesday game. We have to deal with this cancer in our game and in our society. Clubs would exert proper controls over who bought tickets to attend games if the consequences were severe enough.

    2. While we're on the subject of a cancer in the game. What about bringing in controls as to who DFS sell their armchairs to aswell?

      Delete
    3. Leeds do have proper controls over who buys tickets. It's not the fault of the ticketing system that the Sheff Weds stewards chose not to check the membership cards on the way into the ground. Not that I'm blaming Sheff Weds for what happened this season, I just don't think you can blame the Leeds ticketing system either.

  23. Can you do just a little bit of research when you talk about the transfer embargo. It will make you look just a bit more creditable. You need it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hammer fraud at 14.23,while you're on the subject of cancer in the game, wouldn't it also be a good idea if DFS brought in controls as to who they sold armchairs to? You see,a ban on some racists buying tickets won't affect those who don't attend games and choose instead to sit on their arses at home pretending they're there. Food for thought, perhaps?
