Zola fiddles as Watford Calcio burns and Leeds surge!

Oh dear, poor Gianfredo looked so good last season, but now? Well, sadly, he seems destined to wake up some time over the next 12 months with a horse's head in his bed. Watford aren't now just adrift of the automatic promotion triumvirate, they are drifting away from the play off flotsam.

Three home defeats on the trot is not what the Pozzo Family demanded. According to Gianfredo, the recent slump has nothing to do with his formation. One win in seven games? Don't blame the tactics, blame bad luck, referees and the phases of the moon apparently!

There's not even much point in working on how to defend set pieces because, to quote Gianfredo, "Sometimes you can train and work as hard as you want but some sides are just very good at them". So the answer it seems is to accept you are going to concede whilst striving to "capitalise further when we have an advantage". Not terribly re-assuring is it?

Of course, Watford Calcio fans don't accept that the club has gone backwards since last season. They know that Zola is doing a brilliant job. Much better than that idiot Dyche would have done. You know, that red haired tosser who never played international football for Italy and who never back heeled a wonder goal but who presently has Burnley top of the division!

Meanwhile, as Watford slide down the table, so Leeds charge up it! What a performance against Miserableboro, securing an epic victory even after the Smoggies had their keeper sent off and then had the cheek to equalise McCormack's opening goal.

There's no stopping Leeds now! Although next week's game at Blackburn looks tricky!

Still, things could be worse for Watford fans. You could support West Ham!

  3. Zola deserves what he got, after he showed his true colours with his uncompassionate treatment of the goalkeeper.

    1. He took him off because he was injured after he was clattered in the first half....before the goal. Almunia is a top keeper and was concussed, that's why he played like that.

Sure make fun of that, but that's why he was taken off.

  7. Howson, Snodgrass & Becchio certainly weren't our rejects matey, they were our losses plain and simple! I wish we had Johnny and Snoddy still, Brian would have had us storming along since the start of the season with them.

  16. things most certainly could be worse for Watford fans. they could pretend to support west ham (like you do from your arm chair) and write rubbish about a club they know nothing about? (like you do about my club) but we already have an idiot for that job in you don't we?

I am really not sure of your source for this paragraph. I think most Watford fans accept that without Chalobah, Vydra, Hogg, Eustace, Abdi (injured) and Deeney (injured) we are not as strong as we were last season so to say that we are somehow blinkered or deluded into believing that we are better than last year is plain stupid. I have never heard any Watford fan call Dyche an idiot or a red haired tosser so unless you can divulge your source for these quotes this is tantamount to libel. I am guessing that you only read newspapers with articles written by Martin Samuels and as such you have no opinions of your own and would rather attribute ridiculous uninformed and unfounded comments to Watford supporters. I suggest that perhaps you accept that the comments you made are your own views and not attributable to any Watford supporter so that we can look at legal action for the libelous nature of your expressed ill conceived opinions.

    1. Not big on irony are you? Dyche is far from a tosser, look at the job he is doing at Burnley. The inescapable fact is that Dyche was sacked to allow the appointment of Zola, and Dyche has Burnley top without a load of loan players and freebies from Pozzo. It's looking as if the Italians backed the wrong horse - based on Zola being Italian and a big name. Dyche didn't fit the image did he? Red haired, no track record as a player, funny voice, doesn't speak Italian, doesn't look good in a suit. Happily, football isn't just about image!

  21. I don't think your comments are ironic, more moronic. I once again repeat that I don't think any Watford fan would think Sean Dyche a red haired tosser and in fact when he returned to the Vic last season he was given a standing ovation before our match with Burnley by the Watford fans in recognition of his efforts in the most difficult of circumstances. In fact I rather hope that Burnley join us in the Premier League next season.

I once again repeat that it was you who initially suggested that Watford fans consider we are better off without Dyche but have now backtracked by saying Dyche was sacked by the new management regime. I cannot disagree with that comment and they will be judged on it in due course. However you seem to take great pleasure in berating the Watford fans for decisions out of their control which is rather like blaming the passengers on the Titanic for the boat hitting an iceberg. Are you suggesting that we should support another team just because Dyche is no longer manager or would you have preferred Watford to be in administration which was where we were heading before the Pozzo takeover? I am no medical expert but I think your quick change of heart shows signs of schizophrenia which is not surprising bearing in mind that West Ham claim to be the "school of football" but are managed by Mr Hoofball, Sam Allardyce. Now that's irony just in case you missed it!

    1. Good Lad ! This smug fellow Hammersfan,( who's least tolerable charasteristic is his attempt(s) to be clever), needs to be put in his place and I for one believe you have done this very nicely indeed!
He turns his sarcasm onto other Teams in an attempt to try and numb the pain he is going through from the performance of his useless West Ham.
