Well that was highly predictable wasn't it? After Udinese Calcio's victory over Leicester, the pressure on Hull was ratcheted up and, with Barnsley desperate for points, the Tigers were always likely to be battered by the Tykes.
So it all comes down to the last game of the season. Udinese host a dispirited Leeds, who will have Austin AllAgro and Hell Hadji suspended after their red cards today. Zola's boys won the corresponding fixture 6-1, when, coincidentally, Dirty Dirty Leeds again finished with just nine men on the pitch, and it is hard to see anything other than a Hornets victory: Leeds have got the second worst away record in the division after all.
Which means Hull almost certainly have to beat Champions Cardiff to go up automatically. Going in to the game against Bristol City, promotion seemed a formality; but that 0-0 draw against the team bottom in the division is now looking hugely expensive.
There will be street parties in the Piazza della Libertà in Udine next week if Zola's boys do it!
There will be parties for sure if Watford do it and there will be uncontrollable sobbing in the home of Hammersfan. How the hell could Zola create a team capable of promotion eh?
ReplyDeleteThat Udinese joke gets funnier everytime you tell it. Classic comedy at its very best.
We'll be laughing on the other side of our faces when we get promotion. That'll teach us.

ReplyDeletewoooooohoooooo Zola is a god
ReplyDeletewhat a goal, has anyone seen a better goal than Watford's 2nd this season?!?!?
ReplyDeleteBattocchio's goal against Huddersfield? To be fair Watford have 3 or 4 that could be contenders for goal of the season
DeleteHow quality is the championship! I've watched most of the premier league games on sky this season and I've gotta say, that an amazing match, much better than the boring crap I've watched this season - great flowing football.., in the championship!!! A battling end to end second half... in the championship!! Give me more that's what football is all about, quality football, hard tackles, great goal... whatever made that a fantastic game, I want more!!
ReplyDeletemaybe they will airlift the whole of Watford to Italy. That would save the taxpayer abit of money
ReplyDeletewhat!?!
DeleteCardiff have nothing to play for. Also I seem to remember a big bust up almost a fight between Mackay & Udinese No:2 when they met at Watford. Cardiff will be partying already & I would not be suprised with a Hull City comfortable win next Saturday. Bad luck in the play offs Udinese & I hope the loophole will soon be closed to this unfair manipulation of the rules.
ReplyDeleteYou do realise that even if they close this so-called 'loophole', it wouldn't affect Watford in any way? The players that are 'on loan' are owned by the same owner! They are only on loan due to the fact that it's completely legal, so there was no need to do permanent transfers. Our owner, OWNS the players. Please can people start finding out facts and form their own opinion. It's really sad that so many people use others opinions to form their own...
DeleteSince you wet your pants every time you mention Italian, Udinese etc, perhaps your owners will change your teams name to Breast Ham or West Porno, it does explain why you are such a tit doesnt it?
