It's a tantalising prospect. Cesar has been a bright star in the dark sky hanging over Loftus Road this season, and with the Brazilian saying that he wants to stay in the Prem and in London, West Ham might be the ideal destination.
How deliciously ironic would that be? QPR go down to the Championship paying Rob Butterfingers Green 50k a week for spreading confusion through his back four at corners, whilst Cesar packs up his old kit bag and moves across to East London.
Cesar would meet our needs perfectly, with Jussi edging towards retirement, and is ten times the keeper England's 666 will ever be.
Harsh on Green to be honest. He did alright by us in games generally.
ReplyDeleteCesar is injury prone and, apart from a great spell in January, has been poor in recent games. Very mixed views on him at QPR.
ReplyDeleteGreen was ok for us and pulled off some great saves to keeps us in matches.
ReplyDeleteWhat do QPR fans know about keepers? They thought Green was a great signing! I accept the point about injuries but Jussi would be a superb understudy for a season.
ReplyDeleteI would rather have green back
ReplyDeleteI'd have green bact tomorrow better than jussi and cesar! Cesar vastly overrated
ReplyDeleteHow on earth can West Ham fans still rate Green? Yes he makes great saves but how much more composed have our back four looked since Jussi replaced Green? Jussi has made more saves than any other keeper in the Prem this season and has cost us few, if any goals. Name me a Jussi error to compare with the Green cock ups against Bolton and Chelsea! Has everybody forgotten Green's debut for QPR? Why do you think Hughes rushed out to get a new keeper?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you here mate. Green didn't know how to position himself for free-kicks and pretty much curled up into a ball everytime someone crossed the ball or took a corner. A fantastic shot stopper, but that's it.
DeleteSwansea and Wigan there's two games and cock ups from jussi
ReplyDeleteI can remember the Swansea one, and I agree he should have done better, but compare that with Green's error at home to Leeds first game up last season - Jussi looks elastic in comparison! And Collins cost us the game at Swansea, not Jussi. Can you remind me what happened at Wigan. I remember their brilliant first goal from the centre half we were trying to sign. From memory, the second was a break away and Jussi was horribly exposed not knowing whether to close out the shot or try to block the cross, but I may be remembering incorrectly. Again, compare to Green against Wolves when we were done 3-1 at Upton Park and he got his angles all wrong.
DeleteIn other news, gloria hunniford might come round to clean my house next week and her daughter might come too. wibble wibble.
ReplyDeleteWTF?? What's this got to do with WHU?? Her daughter has been dead for the best part of 10 years you SICKO!!!
DeleteI'm not sure I understand this blog. Rob Green and David James are probably the 2 best keepers we've ever had. Just because we couldn't meet his wage demands and he hasnt maybe had the rob of the green (sorry) since doesn't make him a bad player. I would also have him back tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteCOYI
You must be very young. You can't have seen Parkes & Ludo.
DeleteSo long as you can get Green on a free, he would be first choice for me also. Jussi has been a good fill-in, but has made his fair share of errors 7 as already mentioned age is not on his side. I reckon Green with Reid & Collins in front of him, would be a good base for any defence.
ReplyDeletehammersfan, we don't need cesar, as you say jussi has fitted in perfectly and i cant see why next season will be any different
ReplyDeleteHe is 37 and there is no alternative. That's why we tried to sign Red Robbo from Blackburn's reserves.
DeleteGreedy Green walked and he can stay gone!
ReplyDeleteI'm not 100% sure regarding Cesar but the fact he is keeping Green out (two experienced managers have now chosen Cesar over Green) MUST mean that Green has had his day.
Why some of our supporters always get nostalgic and want to go backwards I'll never know!
Yep. Agree entirely there. Anyone that decides to skip town for a top up on an already astronomical wage can lay in the grave he dug. He looked disinterested at West Ham at times. Who wants a keeper like that?! Plus blunders for QPR says it all really. Easily worse than Jussi. Was just about to write "better shot-stopper" but he's actually not. Anyone disagree, please watch Spuds on 25th of Feb. Or West Brom last weekend.
DeleteCan't even believe taking Green back is even a discussion. Never.
Jussi mistake at wigan was an awful kick straight to them!
ReplyDeleteI remember the kick, but they didn't score from it did they? If we are talking poor kicking, Green is in big trouble!
DeleteIn all fairness, the one area Jussi was awful at is kicking. He seems to be getting slightly better (only a few iffy kicks per game). Green was never that bad. This coming from a fan that prefers Jussi and would never entertain a Rob Green return
DeleteIt was from that kick they scored! And what about the spill at villa and the fact he doesn't catch anything and parrys even weak shots! I'm only saying think greens better, he left us for money, jussi wants to play 4 us and that's the difference and on the whole he's been consistant! COYI
ReplyDeleteIf I'm being honest, Green was a good keeper. All players make errors - but goalkeepers are more exposed if they make an error. I would rather have Green than Cesar. Cesar is injury prone and Green didn't let him have his starting spot back as quickly as he did at the beginning of the season.
ReplyDeleteI think a factor to consider as well is that Fulham are apparently not offering Schwarzer a new contract - could Cesar be going there?
Here I am listing some points that you might find occasionally
ReplyDeleteare really tartrates. That way, you'll be very glad, as well as your confidence. Yet, you can't
help it but feel uncomfortable.
