Who is lying? Warnock of Leeds United or McLeish of Nottingham Forest

Something doesn't add up here. Either Dexter Blackstock's agent is playing games, or one of Warnock or McLeish is lying.

Warnock has repeatedly said that he wants another striker and all the rumours this week centred on Blackstock. Now Warnock has come out and claimed that eight enquiries have been knocked back since the beginning of January, and you would expect that Blackstock would have counted within that number. But not according to McLeish. He claims there have been no enquiries for his soon to be out of contract striker.

Now, of course, both managers may have reason to mislead. Forest don't want Blackstock getting bolshy and using the interest of other clubs as a negotiating tool to up his wages; whilst Warnock may be trying to hide the fact that Leeds have no more than peanuts to trade in the January window. And Blackstock's agent has every reason to spread his version of events too.

The waters are very muddy. It might help if Leeds shared the names of the players that Warnock claims that have made approaches for. Presumably Thomas is one of them. If Blackstock isn't on the list, then who are the other seven?

  1. Yet more misinformed bollocks from the Bubble Boy.

Where has Warnock said one of his targets is Blackstock, or that he has enquired about him, that's purely paper speculation.

As for sharing names of players asked about, NO team does that so why should Leeds be any different.

Yet again you are posting complete shite just to have a dig at Leeds.

You really do need to get your obsession sorted out by a psychiatrist.

  2. You need to read the article again, Warnock said 8 had fallen through, but his key targets were ongoing, the fallen through targets were not his main targets, get a grip lad and read things correctly and not how you simply want to hear them

  3. All this article is presumptions. As usual the crazy west ham low life talks shit. Warnoc hasn't mentioned blackstock ever!

  4. The key word here is "Rumours" hf! I've never seen or expected to see Blackstock (or any other potential targets) named by the club until a deal is done. Branding people liars on the basis of media speculation is a bit foolish don't you think?

  5. A rather juvenile posting. Who says either of them is lying. Did Warnock say he enquired about Blackstock? Who said Leeds are/were interested in Blackstock? What club has ever published a list of payers they have enquired about? Clearly a slow day in your house

  6. The missing 6000 will not be back at ER unless QUALITY signings arrive............Same old story from NW, its a simple equation.
Pay the money = Get the signings = Crowds come back = Play offs

  7. The other alternative, however implausible it may seem is that the rumour mongerers are in fact attention seeking fantasists whose rumours have no basis in reality whatsoever.

  8. It does sound like the same old shit we had to listen to during Ken Bates reign........ I hope Warnock proves me wrong.

  9. "Dexter Blackstock's agent is playing games, or one of Warnock or McLeish is lying" could be true, however as Warnock hasn't actually said he's made an offer for Blackstock, McLeish isn't lying and Blackstock's agent isn't playing games! Your are right 2 plus 2 doesn't equal 5!

  10. This is the problem with the internet. Any idiot can write an "article".

  11. To be fair to Warnock, he stated that the players he has enquired about are not 1st choice. He also stated that "the players" in question were touted to him via agents, not, as he was to find actually for sale(when he spoke to the managers at those clubs involved)As for Blackstock, pure conjecture his contract is up at the end of the season, so leeds are looking for a striker, agent takes over,2+2=5!!!!!Seem's like improved terms to stay at florist to me!On another(West ham point) i thought Joe Cole played well against the stretford mob!!Collins 2nd was a quality header!mot

  14. We've resigned Tongue and just confirmed Ross Barkley from Everton on loan. They've taken him on 1 month but unless the other transfer targets sign it'll be for the rest of the season. That to me shows that we are aiming to bring in better than Ross and I have no concerns about Leeds this transfer window. See you in September in the Prem bubble boy!

  15. what happened to becchio leaving?....have you shut up about that now? your amazing prediction

  16. What's to say either of them are lying? It's only been in the media and on crappy sites like this that blackstock has been linked. I'm not implying that no contact has been made cos all managers bend the truth to suit themselves, but to state one of them has to be lying is wrong.
