It could just be a coincidence, of course, but since Sandro limped off early doors against QPR, Spurs have only scored one goal - and that was scored after Parker was substituted! In fact, in the last 187 minutes that Parker has played in the Prem, Tottenham have scored just once, and conceded one to balance it out.
The game at Loftus Road was the first time this season that Spurs have failed to score away from home - and, of course, they were playing against the bottom team in the division. Against Man Utd, Spurs were goal less whilst Parker was on the field - supporting again my view that, when up against the better teams, Parker is found wanting.
Not that he hasn't looked his old self since returning. He is still doing those 360 degree turns that would delight the Dancing On Ice judges, and still passing the ball sideways, backwards, sideways, backwards, sideways, backwards, five yards forward, sideways, backwards...
I wonder how long Spurs will hang on to fourth place with Scotty in the team?
He slows the game too much, lacks awareness (and thus passes a lot backwards and/or hurried) and is generally a bit of a headless chicken when going forward.
ReplyDeleteMoutinho please.
He may be headless at times but he has a lot of passion and wears his heart on his sleeve, a great replacement for Sandro, if he werent about we would be watching Huddlestone walk around the pitch doing f all.
DeleteDembele and parker dominated the midfield against Man utd what else do you want the bloke to do.
most overated player in the premier league. He is everything that is wrong with english football. Zero talent just gets stuck in. Rubbish
Deletei agree. sensible post. The parker lovers are a little delusional. he is not a good football player at all just a battler with no positional awareness
DeleteWhat a crap article, yes granted Sandro has been immense and will be a huge loss to any team on current form and considering how good he has been this season, however lets not forget the fact that even Man utd decided to sit back and defend against us, this wold make it hard for any team to score, QPR had at least 9 players in their own half and defended for their lives, this has nothing to do with parker and would not make any difference if Sandro played. In fact trth being Parker had a good game against both QPR and Man utd, the reason why we aint scoring is because we cant unlock tight defences and we need a fast, tricky striker someone like Daimao would of course be ideal and be better suited in our current set up. We dominated Mn utd, dembele and parker both kept the ball really well so your article does not reflect the truth in any way. If anything Sandro is more defensive.
ReplyDeleteQPR parked the team bus and was playing for the draw and we could have scored 3 or 4 more goals in the Man U game. Pakers just came back from a serious injury and your already giving him grief.
ReplyDeleteMoronic article
this is the dumbest thing i've ever read in my life.
ReplyDeletewhy
DeleteI wish my news feed could decipher actual news from utter SH1T.In Scotty's defence (not that he needs it) he was a regular starter in a Spurs team that finished 4th and put in some sterling performances for his country..........you CLINT!
ReplyDeleteI honestly can't believe I’m reading this. Never before in the history of the internet has a blog post be so incorrect.
ReplyDeleteThe world will be a better place if you disconnect yourself from the web.
Hey, that's right! And anyone else spot how we post a financial loss as soon as he comes back? I bet he's had his fingers in the till. It IS all connected! Well spotted author; worthwhile piece.
ReplyDeletePost hoc ergo propter hoc if ever i saw it.
ReplyDeleteTesticulos.
DeleteIt's not as if Spurs have played 10 games with Parker
ReplyDeleteThe one against QPR was a tacktical one where QPR slowed the game and restricted our wingers. Against ManU there were chances saved by their keeper and we had more chances than them, that says a lot
So Defoe, Dempsey and ade cannot put the ball in the net from great positions, and parker is to blame. Yeah I prefer sandro over parker but this is ridiculous. Moutinho instead of parker would see us run over
ReplyDeleteExcellent analysis. Flawless. Tw*t.
ReplyDelete2 matches? Please...
ReplyDeletePlease what. The guy is right. Parker puts the handbrake on all spurs attacks. If Defoe ever had that first time early defence splitting pace he would be on 20 for the season.
DeleteJermain Defoe has never in his entire career scored 20 league goals in a season and he ain't gonna start now, even with Iniesta behind him.
DeleteAt last! someone else has noticed Scott parker for the player he is.
ReplyDeleteYes he gets stuck in and throws his body on the line but THAT IS IT. His positional play is way way too deep and does not support his central midfield partner enough(Dembele). And when he has the ball he does absolutely nothing with it apart from sideways, backwards or releases it asap to anyone. Infact he trys to avoid receiving the ball and generally does not want it. If he is playing for Spurs and England then we have major problems. Sorry Scott you work hard but you are not anywhere near enough a Spurs or England player. If anyone disagrees please watch Scott closely from now on without the ball and you will see.
call yourself a footie fan of spurs? my a--e!!! get real, we do,nt score enough goals because we do,nt have strikers good enough. Please do,nt throw Defoe at me, even Abes. Defoe is like a bus, no goals for ages then four come at once. Mr Togo gets the sulks and forgets where the net is. Do,nt blame Parker he does his job big time, its our strikers who need criticisim, and Levy for not coughing up the money to buy a decent striker!!!
ReplyDeleteHe is useless. Always has about 5 or 6 touches and passes backwards. No vision , no ability and no goals. the guy is a centre mifielder. Total FRAUD and its embarrassing that he gets paid what £70,000 a week.
DeleteSandro 10 times the player
Not right now he isn't.
DeleteParker is completely overated. Spurs are in trouble now with him playing. You are right about the goals too drying up. He holds the ball for too long and cant create anything. If he plays it forwards its very unusual. Loves that 360 turn away from nobody and then runs up to the full back with the ball and drops him in it from 2 yards with an opposing player right behind him. I love Spurs but cant watch Parker. If i see him walking again back into position i will throw the remote at the tv. Annoyingly bad
ReplyDeleteI don't remember us not being able to score all last season.
ReplyDeleteOne and a half matches in after a long lay off and you're judging him already? Wait a minute, didn't Sandro play all of the Stoke match as well as the loss against Everton? Where was his "defence-splitting pass" in the Lazio match? Don't get me wrong cos I think Sandro is great, but we could do a lot worse than Parker as a holding midfielder. Case in point, recall how hapless Huddlestone was vs Arse-in-hell.
ReplyDeleteThought it was just me. Parker, god love him wins the ball and either kicks it out of play or to the oppo. On the odd occasion when this doesn't happen the ball only travels 5 yards. Yes he is a ball winner but achieves nothing when in possession of the ball. Love his heart and fearless streak but he is a very limited player. Good but not good enough for a top 4 team or even a team with aspirations of champions league football.
ReplyDeleteThe nice man that wrote this article can not live to far away from one of your lot,he adores attention and can not be that hard to find,he likes his 15 minutes of attention so people will know him...do the ground work and ask around.
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell are you talking about?
DeleteClaude Makelele barely made a forward pass in his whole Chelsea career and he was a lynchpin of the side. Break up play, pass it sideways to the nearest teammate. That's all he did and it's largely what Parker does. We had no problems scoring last season when he was a regular and to say this article is jumping the gun after less than two games is an understatement.
