Warnock Reveals Becchio Wants To Leave Leeds

Interesting that Warnock pointed the finger at Becchio and claimed  “His head wasn’t right and that’s why the transfer window is such a nightmare for managers."

So it seems that Becchio fancies the idea of a move away from Elland Road - how else can Old Big Gob's comments be interpreted? And who can blame the Argentine hotshot when the new owners seem just as reluctant to open their wallet as Master Bates?

If it is true that Becchio is on £15k a week then a move to any Premiership club would see his wages rise considerably. And at 29, he has to think about safeguarding his future. You are a long time retired in football.

Mind you, Warnock's critism of Becchio seems a bit rich. His 19 goals represent a superb return given Leeds have had less shots on goal than any other team in the Championship. If the midfield don't create openings, how is a striker meant to score exactly? Leeds managed just eight shots all game, with none on target. And even more damningly, didn't win a single corner - playing against a team that haven't won at home for 3 months!

Old Big Gob sounded like a man close to the edge after today's defeat and the fans at Elland Road are losing patience. The Board won't be happy to hear fans calling for Warnock's head and may well court popularity by sacking him rather than risk the ire turning in their direction so soon after investing £50m+ to buy the club.

Let's face it, eleventh in the Championship isn't good enough, is it?

    1. I had a feeling becchio would be leaving after Mick Jones basically stated to every other manager that if you want becchio offer us a bit of money and he's yours. Talk about a lack of ambition! Once again! New owners, same attitude!

    2. GFH need to step up and spend some money. Yes, I agree it is difficult to get players in during January but offering to pay 1.25 million over 3 Years in installments for Chris Wood won't get us anywhere. Come on GFH think of the big picture! Pay the money up front and the rewards will be promotion! Not to mention higher tv revenues and sponsorship from playing in the premiership! MOT

    1. Can't blame becchio for wanting to leave after seeing our last few games. Something is seriously wrong when a team supposedly pushing for promotion into the prem can't even get a shot on target against a team that was bottom of the league before kickoff. GFH need to show the ambition that Bates never showed us and sign a few players capable of getting us where we want to be! MOT

  3. Time for NW to go never liked him never wanted him
Every match same old story least possession least shots on target least shots we have gone backwards under him get rid now before he brings in anymore has beens and never will be,s bring some of our home grown younger player's in and see how they do. This season is over for us now get rid now don't let this overrated fool stay a second longer

  5. You seem to have toned down your sarcasm of late and raising some valid points. Have we hit the Snodgrass scenario again where Luciano has realised investment is minimal and is wastimg his time and efforts? If that's the case at 29 he deserves a shot at the big time. I'd hate to see him leave but wouldn't hold it against him. Clearly things aren't quite right at Elland Road at the moment.

    2. I agree, Becchio has been very loyal, but if there's no serious investment we can't compete ( look at Wood ) what a mess. probably end up with Norwich.

    3. By investing in the team, GFH will display the ambition that will keep the likes of Becchio at the club. Otherwise he will end up wearing a yellow jersey like the rest of them.

  10. you got back quick from your game today(That would be west ham, even though the jury is out because you seem so engrossed in LUFC and all things concerning LUFC)infact you got back very quick to your PC,how did they play from the eyes of the fan in the stand, what was the atmosphere like, did you have a good seat, that kind of thing....Ps i don,t expect a reply to yet another valid point.

  11. Warnock must be a complete retard if he can't sort this out - erm........ STOP HOFFING the ball about!!!!!!!

Get it down and play the ball out from the back (on the floor) - we have had the least shots on goal in the league because the midfield don't exist - the ball is going over their heads constantly.

Not going aghain this season now until something changes.........

  14. Bang on, Warnocks lost it, the fans have had enough, the footballs shocking and our only goal threat is being criticised by the boss and is set to leave for exactly the same reason Snoddy did... A total lack of ambition from the board.

  16. Don't you mean cole is leaving w,ham. You seem to have a great deal of spare time to spend on Leeds United these days. Have you got someone else in to shave your mothers back?

  17. Warnock is a dinosaur. This lot from Bahrain, get a grip. Find a replacement for big gob. I am starting to think find a Director of Football, Strachan. Promote Redfern to First Team Coach. Keep what good we have trash the shit, bring on the youth. Use the remaining part of the season to get us right for next season. We do not need any more manure at Elland Road the grass grows well enough.

  18. Hmm to me it sounded like he was on about Mick Jones speculating.

  20. Basically the bloke (gal?) Is right. No decent signings on the horizon. We have a lot of good players and Warnock cannot get them playing together in an effective system so maybe it is time to go. We had Thomas, Tate, lees, Byram, diouf, beccio, McCormack, Kenny, this is a good team and easily good enough for top 6. Basically team is under performing and that lies with Warnock. He needs to turn it round double quick. As for new signings, one or 2 may help but we shouldn't need them

  24. I'm glad to see Conor McNamara on MoTD. He can pronounce "Keogh", without making two syllables. That's because he's Irish. Unfortunately, there are no players called Keogh in this game.

  28. Building an article with a grain of salt. True enough Leeds United FC are not in a good place but quite where you get the rest of laughable assumptions from at the beginning of this tripe is bemusing.

  29. NW you told us to wait for the transfer window it's now day 12 and still not one signing of any quality, let alone marquee signing,if we were to get promotion then a player like CHris Wood should have been top priority.Leeds board take your heads out your backsides GFH give the money to NW.
A word to NW stop looking at these has beens from your ex clubs.thats why their clubs let them go for nothing. And a word for the invisible scouts do your contacts or air miles not take you further than Yorkshire ,West London or Portsmouth.I appreciate that January transfer window is not the best time to buy as clubs won't release or sell their best players, but what happened to europe and Africa.
Get it sorted Simon Harvey and NW shape up or ship out

  30. NW sort it out

  31. Like most Whites, I hate to admit that you are right; I hope the team realised that they weren't worthy of our vast support-as always-today.

  32. Your definitely a Leeds fan doing a Leeds blog. People bite every week and kick off at what you say. Half of it's true! Your a cynical Leeds fan like half of us. Keep up the good work.

  36. Interesting headline, havent bothered reading the article but note that no other articles point toward this so clearly no truth in it. Lets be honest you're not exactly renowned for your groundbreaking journalism!

  37. I have been a supporter of NW since day one and am still not convinced that he has had the proper backing he required to make a complete overhaul of the side. However, the fans cannot be ignored bcuz the football isn't right and i feel that now may well be the time for a change as long as we don't get big fat Sam.

  38. mcormack and somma up front both have quick feet and can run at players.Look at second goal against forest. Both need more time together but there is an understanding there they are well suited.Beccchio too slow and overated .Sure holds ball up well and good feet also but doesnt run at players and many of his gooals this season have been penalties.Diouf sitting behind these two would be perfect addition.Does anyone get this

  40. We're playing the same style of football as west ham and we all know how successful that is. Thank got we don't have that goal less machine cole up front otherwise we'd be in the shit too.

  41. Has anyone noticed how unqualified this hammerfanny actually is to comment on Leeds and especially his own club? No wonder they call him the plastic hammer,he sits in an armchair watching the match of the day highlights then spout off like he was there and even has the audacity to rate the players. Now i could be mistaken but i reckon there's a lot more action not picked up by tv cameras, off the ball running, man marking etc. Would mark kermode review a film based on a trailer? Would anyone buy a house after listening to a description from a man in a pub? I put it to the plastic hammer that he's just an ill informed match dodger.

  42. Beckford, Blackstock and Sharp are all out of contract in the Summer. A real statement of intent would be to sign one of them. Obviously we, along with most championship clubs, couldn't and shouldn't pay Beckford's 30k a week as we all know what would happen again. Would he take a wage cut to come back to us? I think he would. He hasn't settled in to any club he's been at since Leeds and is a proven goalscorer at this level. MOT

  43. This takeover is another con job involving Bates. He is still pulling the strings. While ever his name is linked anywhere with Leeds Utd,there will be no ambition whatsoever.Get wise people!

    ReplyDelete
  44. He will be like all the others that have left, joining clubs that are going nowhere. We shouldn't be focusing on players as it is the manager who can't get the best out of players. He needs to be sacked asap! We are just fading from the history books slowly but surely! No ambition and no management in this club! Good luck Luciano.

  45. Things will not change in the near future, Leeds mates. The whole set up at ER sends out all the signals of a sham. Reassurance is urgently needed from thr Board of lufc but a reluctance for openess keeps the confusion bubbling!! Coulx it be that lufc is ultimately owned by an offshore company with nominee owners. No prizes in guessing who may be the true owner behind the scenes but just picture what could be possible - Blaster Bates funding the offshore co and purchase of lufc and simply circulating "investment". Wonder what the tax advantages would be if this was the case!

  47. How do you get away with posting blatant lies as headlines hf?

Just say it's true and Becchio has said he wants to go, they should let him, he's served our club well (just like Snoddy did) He's probably gotten sick of hearing false promises (just like Snoddy did) He'll probably end up at Norwich (just like Snoddy did). I for one would wish him well.
