Cellino Desperate To Talk Up Price For Leeds United's Goal Machine

So, having agreed the sale of Cagliari to a consortium he now says doesn't exist, Massimo reckons he has rejected a "substantial bid" from Newcastle for McCormack because the Scot doesn't want to leave. But, strangely, Newcastle claim no bid has been made.

Who do we believe? Well if McCormack really has turned down the chance to talk to Newcastle, then he must be totally lacking in ambition and seriously worried about his ability to translate his Championship form to the bigger stage of the Premiership. He must also have no sense of the value of money because he would surely double or treble his salary should he move to the Prem. And he only has five or six years of his career left in which to achieve financial security for his family.

So, on balance, I suspect Cellino's claims are utter bollocks. Newcastle's interest may be tepid at best and the Italian is probably trying to provoke another club - West Ham perhaps - into upping their offer. Leeds fans should note that Cellino was happy for his star striker to talk to Newcastle - if he is to be believed - so that suggests its only a matter of time before the Scot leaves. If anybody actually wants him!

  1. Do keep up, he's selling cagliari to the ex inter Milan director now.

What pathetic troll attempts you've made today.

Why would mcCormack sign for a small long ball team when he's turned down a bigger club like Newcastle, where he would be more effective? As for money, perhaps he feels Leeds can go up, in which case he would get more money where he is than take the risk of signing for a club like yours which may go down after uprooting his family. He would probably earn more at Newcastle though, so perhaps he's one of them old fashioned types that believes in loyalty

  2. Talking bollocks as usual.

Ross McC spoke to Cellino on Monday, and will have said then whether he wanted to leave or not, so where do you get Cellino being happy to let him talk to Newcastle from.

Oh yeah, same place you get all your FACTS ----- You MADE IT UP TO FIT YOUR AGENDA

  3. Or loyalty counts for something. Is this a word strange to Hammers fans. I suspect so. Well if you have a striker worth 800m like the pony tailed ex-Liverpool goal machine pony that your cockerney boys possess, you would not seek a 25 goal per season striker from any division. Or is it because if he won't join Newcastle, Sullivan and his filthy money have no hope of attracting him.

  4. You describe Cellino's claim as "utter bollocks". That's a subject you know about - stick to that and don't come the smart arse. In business dealings nobody shows all their cards in public. Massimo Cellino has a bit more business acumen than the likes of you.

  10. Why do footballers always have to move clubs? Does it not occur to people that McCormack may ..... just may.... be happy at Leeds. Ambition ?? look at Becchio- completely ruined his career by going to Norwich who are now in the same division as Leeds anyway!

If the club don't accept a bid surely that shows he's more important to Leeds and would only be a bench warmer at the toon.

  11. What is utter Bollocks is all your pueril stirring ad-nausiam. Here's the only question that's of interest. 'What really happened to you during your 3 Month Sulk from February?
The excuse that Leeds were in too much of a mess for you to bother, has been proved a total lie by the frequency of your blogs since your dramatic return, and the fact that you are THRIVING on any mess you try to hang on Leeds.
I suspect you were in some legal trouble. What do you others think?

  12. I wouldn't lose too much sleep over RMs future financial security if i was you. There's a knackers yard where the over the hill 30 somethings go for one last pay day before hanging up their boots. Isn't there? So don't let it eat you up because w,ham lost out to Leeds (again) this time. He'll be along ten years from now following glowing reports from joe, carlton, jussi.Pike,Frazer,Godfrey and Mainwaring. You just see. I read that w,ham "legend" trevor brooking has retired after ten years at the FA. Anyone know what he actually did there, apart from say "yes" quite a lot?
