West Ham fans cheering on Yeovil against Sheffield United

Yeovil in Somerset: Population 40,000.

Sheffield in Yorkshire: Population 550,000+

Yeovil Town FC  ground capacity 9,565

Shafting United's ground capacity 32,609

Yeovil Town operate on a shoestring budget but have declared a profit for 3 years in succession; Shafting United have received £20m+ from West Ham as compensation for having a shit team and getting relegated. It's a bit like a poodle taking on a pit bull.

Every West Ham fan will be cheering on Yeovil tonight!

    West Ham paid because it was far cheaper than getting relegated. Who came out of it on top, US! Let's put it to bed now eh?

    Speaking as a true hammer I would just like to offer my humble apologies for this buffoon. He certainly doesn't represent our great club.

    At the end of the day it was us that wronged you and agree that the compensation paid was nowhere near enough (I note we still havent paid it in full). I also accept that had it been any club other than West Ham - everyones 'second club' (possibly on the account of us NEVER challenging for anything) - then relegation would have been a certainty.

    I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive and would like to wish you the best of luck against Yeovil tonight. Indeed we hope to see you back in the championship soon where we both belong.

    Your right if it wasn't for Peters, Hurst and Moore they would certainly have been relegated and probably two divisions for outright cheating, as a Dagenham fan it would have been good to get one over the local scum

    football is 11 vs 11, not 40,000 vs 550,000. West Ham also had a shit team in that season, but they had one world class player who they were using illegally, who single handedly lifted them from the bottom of the relegation zone
