First Leeds Signing of Summer on his way?

If you believe the rumours, Zurab Khizanishvili is on his way to Elland Road. An experienced centre back, he looks like a useful addition to the squad, although at 31, going on 32, he will do nothing to bring down the average age of the team and appears to be a typical Warnock / Leeds / Bates signing - long in the tooth and a free transfer!

Perhaps GFH Capital are saving the money ready for a big splash or three later in the summer!

  7. If you believe the rumours, the author of this blog supports a Team that has no greater aspiration than to survive each season, has a pathological obsession with a club that has achieved and will again achive greatness and, in some quarters, has been described as a total knob head.

    Just saying....

  8. Glad you rate him. My opinion is that we don't need to bring down the average age, that's not the criteria for improving the team. What we need to do is bring up the standard of player quality and performance. If this guy does that, then I'm happy

  9. Didn't your mum tell you never to listen to rumours Neville ??! Or in your case start a rumour , off ya pop nerd

  10. 1 place we lack expirience is in the defence. Kishnashvili will bring that, he is known and trusted by BMD. Don't expect us to spend loads! The money we do spend will be on a striker, winger and a creative midfielder. Around 3-4m in all, the rest freebies. Macanuff or young gem from the lower leagues maybe.

  13. So this is based on a crappy little article you have read in the daily fail! Note to self spam dangler- MUST DO BETTER!!!

  14. According to the Daily Mail, which is about as reliable a source of information as Comical Ali on one of his less lucid days.

  15. What money? When Leeds sell Byram maybe we will have money to buy players.Untill then it will be freebees and every leeds fan knows that.Nothing has changed at Elland road amd i'm seriously pissed of with it all.

  16. Interesting bit of trolling although on reflection thought you might have picked up on the Alan Curtis interview and his reference to Romania being full of rats.

  17. Like phil bardsey!!! Your number one summer target!!! Ha ha ha aiming big again i see hammers!! Still as you are probably the most skint team in prem, he may be a decent cheap option for a relagation scrap

  18. Dont sound great with the age but we do need an experianced defender/leader in amongst them ... Am hoping for some good signins early though

  19. Many fellow Leeds fans come to your blog questioning your 'obsession' with our great club and directing quite a bit of hate towards you (which I'm sure you can handle and maybe even quite enjoy).

But what they seem to fail to do is read your articles with an unbiased eye.

I actually agree with about 99% of your posts about Leeds, this one included. The possible signing of Khizanishvili doesn't fill me with a great sense of optimism and I'm keeping my opinions of 'Nice Guy Brian' and GFH firmly on the fence until I see the results of the transfer window.

Keep up the good work and let us know when you're finally ready to come out as a secret Leeds fan ;-)

    2. Very mature response, yes I am obviously a puffter because I have a different point of view to you.

And the only way to "pander to this idiot" is by abusing him with childish comments like the rest of the people on here.
I agree that he spends way too much time talking about Leeds, but his points are usually sound.

  20. He would be a good signing. hes technically good for a CB

  21. FAIR PLAY EXPERIENCED FODDER ITS A HARD LEAGUE FOR HARD MEN BIG LAD LOTS OF EXPERIENCE AND FOR NUFFIN. SO YES LEAVES CASH .... HOPEFULLY FOR SOME TALENT.

  22. Yes and Reading and Norwich are reportedly interested but I notice you haven't let their fans know with one of your dull blogs? I also see that yesterday, you posted some "news" for your fellow West Ham fans at 19:31 and managed to get a whopping 4 comments. 1 said " total bollox Neville" etc. So even Hammers fans think your a bore? Im starting to understand it now. you get more attention from us Leeds fans and there could be a message there? That we are more passionate about our great club than you and your fellow so called West Ham supporters.

  25. Last year you found it amusing to link j,savile with Leeds United, you also wrote that the bad things he did were outweighed by the good things,ie charity fundraising and stoke mandeville, purely for your own reasons of course. Today it has emerged that savile has abused 7000 children. Are you proud of yourself now?

  26. any signing gives us leeds a bit of a boost, so really it dont matter who it is,that type of player is about right in our current climate and as i stated yesterday hammer,we wont be in a postion to get much better than that for 4/5 years, that will be when we a half decent prem team and need to kick on, but that will only come when the glory hunters come back to elland road ,(full house money needed) sniffing a scent of success!!!!.sad but true. real leeds know that, at least the away support is still best in country!!! .Mick

  28. Fuckin hell mate what are you on? Compared to HF drills are positively enthralling! I may be biased as a tradesman, but I can actually talk for hours about drills. I love them; especially combi drills, 18 volt, De Walt, Metabo, Blue Bosch, Panasonic and the daddy of them all, Hilti. I can even talk at great length about the batteries that operate the drills: Lithium Ion, Nickel metal hydride, etc. No, to compare HF to a tool would have to be a string line / piece of string. Now thats boring! But even that has many uses, more than the nob that is HF

  29. go for snoddy johnsoh and howson proper prem midfield on the ball city

    1. Snoddy apart, all of them are average championship players, so city looks like in time that is where norwich will end up again!!

  30. He is 31 and has been capped 86 times, Leeds have a very young inexperienced defence...so it makes sense to everyone......except.....?

  31. Drills aren't boring.

  32. Well he signed a contract extension last week so he's going nowhere. Once again the hammer fraud gets it spectacularly wrong. Meanwhile at the boleyn ground another no hoper walks through the door, this time from romania, w,ham are now known in romania as ratrescue.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Touch and go on this...i have been told Real Madrid are also in for him,but he prefers a move to Elland Road...good signing

    ReplyDelete
  34. His agent has confirmed this is not hapoening. He is contracted until 2014. See phil hay twitter feed. Daily mail is not a good source for transfers

    ReplyDelete
  35. West Ham are different of course. Hence the recent signing of a 31-year old Romanian left back!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Defence is where it all starts (or in Leeds' case where it all starts to unravel - year after year). Good move if it happens - this isn't another journeyman - he's still a class act for this division.
