Sheffield Wednesday's Mammadov rejected Leeds before buying Owls

Oh dear, how desperate is it getting? Not so long ago, Leeds fans were convinced that oil money was going to fund a resurgence of the club, with rumours of a stinking rich Arab buying out Master Bates. Instead they got GFH Capital.

And now, hell and damnation, a real oil magnate has come along and bought - Sheffield Wednesday of all clubs! So not only are Leeds no longer the giants of English football that they once considered themselves to be, they are slipping into the third tier of Yorkshire clubs!

It was bad enough playing second fiddle to FA Cup finalists and Premiership stalwarts Hull City Tigers last season; now Leeds fans are having to come to terms with the fact that Wednesday are about to overtake them too! And with a Clough in charge at the Blunted Blades, it is probably only a matter of time before the Off Whites are looking enviously at Shafting United as well!

Bradford City have made it to a Cup Final in living memory, Miserableboro have enjoyed a stint in the Prem more recently than Leeds and with Rotherham now in the same division, Leeds could even find themselves kissing the arses of the Millers!

Managerless, groundless, training-pitch less & piss pot less! Still there's no indignity in playing second fiddle to the mighty Owls. They are, after all, a bigger club, having won more titles, more FA Cups and having won a major domestic trophy more recently than Leeds.

It's no wonder then that Mammadov rejected Leeds in favour of Wednesday.

  2. I supported leeds since the 60s and you are right in every word you say. . I'm intelligent and wealthy but the average Leeds fan is of limited intelligence and in denial, desperate and dining out still on part glories. . The season ticket holders are killing
our club. . They have your money up
front so they take the wee wee out of the fans. . .relegation for us this year

  4. The supposed topic is mammadov rejecting Leeds yet nowhere in the article you say where mammadov rejected Leeds. By the way, on top of Cellino's millions he has £35m more! Having a cockney judge who's the biggest team in yorkshire is outrageous.. What an a absolute knob you are

    3. Were Leeds available when Mammadov was in the market to buy a club? Did Mammadov buy Leeds?

    4. What you're saying there is he rejected every team in the world for Sheffield. You just chose to put Leeds in the headline to guarantee views.

    5. Every club is 'available to buy' at the right place, even WHU if they're desperate!

    2. Yes when was the last time West Ham won anything? Leeds DID win the league BTW (and a few other piss pot trophies). Middlesbrough is in Teeside, Sheffield is in South Yorkshire... Obviously you are not very smart and I'm surprised the nurses let you near a keyboard. Why do you hate Leeds so much, inferiority complex maybe?

    3. South where? Oh, South Yorkshire! Second word is a bit of a giveaway!

    4. Hammersfan, why are you concerned so much with Leeds United? Seems strange the majority of your blog focuses on LUFC. The trolling nature, suggests you are a young boy and not a particularly smart young boy. Maybe you are being bullied at school? You do know that Leeds United have been a much more successful club than West Ham right? Come on little boy, time to grow up.

    5. So why do you write stories about Leeds when you could be writing about the team you love... the 'mighty' West Ham? It seems a really odd thing to do, unless you are are trying to make people think you are a complete idiot.

  14. Sheffield Wednesday - Massive club. I see Sheffield Wednesday shirts all over the country, I mean I was in Rotherham the other day and I saw TWO lads in Wednesday shirts! Mega club. And all the European competitions SWFC have competed in. Football fans in Europe all know about the great SWFC teams of the past. Names like Walker and Hirst just roll off the tongue. And the mammoth away support! Sell outs week in week out. SWFC - Massive

  16. well remember this... west ham have never won the top division title... never won the league cup and never won anything in europe either so we might be less successful than sheff wed but bigger than the 'ammers (Sheff wed never won anything in europe either)

    ReplyDelete
  17. Well of course you know that West Ham have never won the top division title which must hurt...never won the league cup and never won anything in Europe. We might have less trophies than Sheff Wed but they have never won anything in Europe. Lost count how many finals we've competed in over the years and our most recent success has to be Champions League semi-finalist about 12 years ago.

    1. Well, apart from the Cup Winners Cup in 65 which was a more prestigious trophy than the Inter City Fairs Cup - oh and the Inter Toto Cup. Oh and the World Cup in 66 of course, despite carrying that useless tosser Jack Charlton who was only in the team to keep his brother happy!

      Delete
    2. West ham won the world cup?

Is cockney land its own country now?

      Muppet

      Delete
    3. Ha ha - where is the 'justification' that the Cup Winners Cup was more 'prestigious' ? The Fairs Cup (now EUFA Cup) was a competition for the old 1st Division 'Runners Up' which by definition had the better performing, most consistent clubs in the season qualifying for it. Anyway may I suggest that you go and concentrate on winning the Premiership

    4. You sad tool, why do you hate so much? When you stop hating yourself and start loving yourself a little, maybe someone will love you back. We know in your head that you think West Ham won the World Cup in 1966 and if it makes you happy you can believe that, but it does confirm that you are a pathetic, deluded, fool who has wasted 2 years writing inaccurate hate mail, trying to troll fans from bigger clubs. Why don't you try writing something you know about. Football clearly isn't your 'thing'.

      Delete
    5. Do you admit that Sheffield Wednesday are a bigger club than West Ham though?

  18. If you were Italian and played in their top tier with wonderful food and hot weather would you come to Leeds with its rain and pie and chips to play in the
second division. .. All these linked with stories are just ludicrous to make fans buy season tickets. . We haven't bought anyone yet. . . No one wants to coach us. . .We don't pay the players on time. . . We haven't bought the ground or our shut training ground yet. .. who the chuff would want to come to Leeds. . Ross will be sold this week to Norwich. . .We will have hunt and Morison up front next year. . .Mouthwatering eh
