All Credit To Ex Leeds Winger Robbie Rogers

There's already been one homophobic comment left on here following Robbie Roger's announcement that he is homosexual. It's a crying shame that he felt the need to hide this for as long as he was playing and that his retirement, at the age of 25, has coincided with this revelation.

How absurd that, in the C21st, players still don't feel able to be open and honest about their sexuality. I'm not sure how good he ever was as a player, but it would be good if, after some time away from the game to get his head sorted, he felt able to return.

No jokes about this here, and any homophobic abuse left on comments will not be posted. Let's be a bit mature here!

  5. I do wonder at your reasons for posting this story as you are almost medically obsessed with anything Anti - Leeds. However as a Leeds fan myself I wish Robbie the best with his future and feel its a shame if he quit football because of his sexuality !! Good luck mate

  9. I agree with you totally.
Sure I'll make jokes about gays. But I was really saddened that Robbie Rogers felt that he couldn't be gay and a player.
    Especially at Leeds.
I'm particularly sad when I remember Albert Johansen & the awful price he paid for being a pioneer persecuted for being different.

  10. I tell you what we all had high hopes for rogers and it didnt really work out but you touched on something there and you are spot on. Maybe if he had his head straightened out
And was happy in his own skin he could be a top player. Who knows. Mentality is a huge part of the game! We all seen johnny woodgate fall apart during that courtcase purely cos his head was up his arse!
