It's Massimo to the rescue at Leeds United!

With the Andrew Flowers consortium dead headed, the only hope for Leeds now is Massimo Cellino. The fans don't want him, the manager doesn't want him and the Football League would probably like to hire a Sicilian hit-man to be rid of him, but with GFH Capital intent on selling, the Italian now appears to be the only hope. And if he doesn't pass the Fit and Proper Crook test, administration appears the most likely outcome.

So Leeds fans had better buckle up for the Massimo ride. It will be bumpy for sure and McDermott will be jettisoned at the first opportunity, but a roller coaster ride has to be better than a slow boat to administration surely?

Massimo has money and a pool of Italian players who could be drafted on to the present squad - and that has to make him a better bet than the Bahrain Bank Built on Sand or either of the home grown consortiums, both of which are big on best wishes and small on financial commitment. At the end of the day, it all comes down to "Show me the money!"; and who cares if it is dirty?

Mind you, things now have to move on apace because that winding up petition is a worry.

With Leeds "supporters" like Andrew Flowers, who needs vile animals eh?

  1. Exactly Cellino to the rescue! What's your point?! He might be ruthless but if he gives us the stability and does everything possible to get us back in the premiership then that's fine with me! Marching on together LUFC

    1. At last everyone is coming to the right conclusion. We need the FL to get this ratified ASAP. Personally if we get results in the next two away games I believe BMcD will be safe and we could be on our way to the top.

  6. I agree. It might be a bumpy ride but better than administration. Let's just get on the rollercoaster and enjoy the ride. It might end up in tears but we might have some fun for a few years if it's better than the last 11. What money on Di Canio or Zola turning up !

  11. Great piece of writing. Staff come & go, LUFC marches on, That's what matters. If Cellino can provide Top Flight Football as he has clearly done for Cagliari, then Welcome to our club

  12. Funny world! Leeds have a Manager who is loved, would probably bring suceess and is doomed..West Ham have a Manager who is hated, will probably bring failure, and survives!

  14. All very true, but you wouldn't really have expected things to be straightforward at Leeds would you?

I guess that BMD will be safe until the end of season though, as International loans are not permitted in the Emergency Loan Window.

As for the writ, that's just BS as it's not repayable until 2015 and is secured against the Corporate Hospitality receipts (another income stream sold by MasterBates).

So Massimo will be Chairman, BMD will probably be Manager until the end of the season, but who will be MD or CEO?

  19. as is the case, it seems, with all the wealthy club owners a dodgy or murky past. But if he is willing to plough millions into the club then Leeds fans the same as the fans of Chelsea, Liverpool, The Scum and the real Manchester etc, will look the other way and welcome him and his wealth for the good of the club!!!!!
It will be interesting to see how the hammers will get out of their financial shortcomings should you be relegated!!! MOT

  20. There seems to be no one else and it could certainly be interesting!
At least the average Italian player can kick a ball in a straight line, if they came to Leeds this would be an obvious improvement. But most importantly it will give you a never ending stream of incidents to write about, kid in a candy shop?

Now that money is all that matters in football, unless the few mega rich owners happen to choose your club, all that is left are the dregs, such as the dildo bros, or Cellino, guess it is a sign of the times.

  21. Two thumbs up. Agree with you totally. If Cellino becoming owner means letting McDermott go, then so be it. Brian is a great guy and will find a job very fast.

  22. Another Leeds article? Well of course' there's only so much you can put in your West Ham "match reports" compiled from illegally streaming MOTD2. Shame the surgeon on your recent hospital visit wasn't a Leeds fan - if he had been you might have woken up to find your cock grafted to your forehead.

  23. another lesson to come out of this mess, 'fans' shouldnt be involved in owning or buying football clubs. Owners should be people who know what they are doing and have money, if they are fans as well fine, but that shouldn't be a qualification. Haigh made himself look like a prat pretending to be a fan, now Flowers has made himself look incredibly cynical, not a good image you want to have for an insurance salesman
