Is Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers a double agent working for Everton?

What the hell is Brendan Rodgers up to now? It's almost as if the guy is hell bent on destroying Liverpool.

If we are honest, he was given an easy ride last season. After the fans had forced out Woy and even turned on King Kenny, it was perhaps inevitable that the latest managerial appointment would be shown a little more respect. Benny Benitez aint coming back and what manager in his right mind would want the job if Rodgers were to make an early exit? The Liverpool bed has been made and now everybody has to lay in it.

But without Suarez, where would Liverpool have been last season? And that total dependence on one player has made Rodgers and the entire club hostages to fortune. The support shown to the Uruguayan after the biting incident was humiliating for a once proud club and it is surely bruised egos which have dictated the latest Rodgers folly - the insistence that Suarez apologises before he is allowed back into the fold.

Apologise? Why would Suarez do that? He wants to go and seems to believe that Rodgers promised him that he could go, so what has he got to apologise for exactly? Liverpool FC felt that no apology was necessary after the racist insult of Evra, so to demand an apology now because Suarez has expressed a wish to move to an alternative employer seems a bit rich.

So what is Rodgers hoping to achieve by insisting on an apology exactly? He wants to keep Suarez, yet he seems hell bent on opening a chasm between himself and the cannibal prima donna. You don't bite the hand that feeds - even Suarez knows that! - but Rodgers seems to believe that he has to humiliate Suarez to assert his own personal authority; and can anybody see the Uruguayan backing down and then giving his best in a Liverpool shirt?

Rodgers may force Suarez to stay and may even force a grudging apology, but we will never again see Suarez giving 100% in a Liverpool shirt.

    2. Gerrard hasn't been giving 100% too from long long time ago. He stays just because he feels bad for Liverpool.

  2. Absolute shat from beginning to end. Not one Liverpool fan "turned" on Kenny. Hammersfan obviously being a Hammer fan, knows as much about football, as I do about the mating habits of the South American Tree Frog. Imagine someone like Suarez, who lives to play football, well imagine him, come the middle of October, when he has not played a game of football in 3 months.

  3. Your conclusion does not seem to consider the fact that this is a 'world cup year'. However, as long as it is not to a rival within the EPL, I think the right thing to do is to get rid of Luis Suarez.

  4. The Question should have been what would Liverpool have done with Sturridge and £50m to spend as a Hammers fan I would be more concerned about My club paying £23m for two ex Liverpool players who failed
Liverpool are improving quickly under Rodgers now and will do so again this season with or without Suarez any fee gained will be put to good use but I wish you all the best in your relegation battle

  8. Terrible piece of writing on Suarez and Rodgers. I haven't got a clue how any of that has anything to do with Everton?? I think we all know that Suarez was backed regarding racism, biting and diving etc etc by Liverpool even though we all knew he was absolutely guilty of all of these. So for the author of this piece to make Suarez to be the bullied and lied to one is nothing short laughable. Deluded author I think.

  10. I think that what most of us objected to was the very poor standard of judging the matter, the process was deeply flawed. Suarez now has already been proven to be wrong over the clause and is claiming a verbal agreement was made with no proof and despite making comments in January himself that completely contradict the alleged agreement.

  12. Rodgers can tell Suarez the moon is made of blue cheese doesn't mean he will get to eat any of it Suarez has a deal with Liverpool His Agent fucked up on the wording and he is paying the price now No Liverpool fan would begrudge Suarez a move if that is truly what the player wants to do but they will want his fee to reflect his ability once that is met he can go to whoever meets the value he is truly world class who ever gets him gets one of the best will he be sold sure he will but it might be in Jan when he has sat out a month or so of the season and it will be abroad

  14. Great article. This will upset some Liverpool fans but it is 100% true. And from speaking to my red mates, they don't rate Rodgers at all.

  15. This is crap! Its no walk in a park being a manager. I've been coaching little kids when i was 18. Even if little boys misbehave, you know well that this will go haywire and chaotic!

  16. Suarez has always been a cheat - from getting Rodwell sent off to cheating Ghana of a World Cup win to biting and diving. But BR is crazy to have supported him and now suddenly not support him just cos of a move. Lets hope for the sake of Liverpool, BR has a miserable season and gets fired and Suarez leaves so that everyone can get back to business...

  18. This is why no other club could be as great as LFC.We never let our players walk alone. The values of the club are inspiring.Even though he may want to leave we've stood by him.Rodgers is a great coach and he's right Suarez does owe an apology to the fans and team for being disrespectful to a club who has backed him continuously. No player is bigger than the team and it's not the teams fault we didn't make champions league,he also has to take responsibility for that(He missed key games through suspension)

This is a terrible article by the way #pathetic

    Give up blogging

    2. Everyone else's fault! EVERYONE except Liverpool! They're the victims! :-D

    3. It is the teams fault. They wearnt good enough. End of. Plus with out Suarez your chances of European football in the future are even less. Plus players looking at this whole spectacle will think twice before joining Liverpool in future.

      Delete
    4. Errr if its not th eteams fault - then I also want to know who's fault it was, maybe Sir Alex's before he retired? LOL

      Delete
    5. No but you let them train alone!!! ;)

      Delete
    6. Dont you know? It's not the team fault for not qualifying for the champions league it's Suarez fault for missing games through suspension.

We at Liverpool will always stand by our players irrespective of the crime commited. They will never walk alone - none of them. The values of the club are an inspiration to all.

  19. Great article. Whilst some fans are reluctant to admit it, the facts speak for themselves. As for all this rubbish about it being a world cup year, if any of you honestly believe that Suarez will be worrying about his place in the national side you are more deluded than I ever imagined.

  20. "Liverpool FC felt that no apology was necessary after the racist insult of Evra, so to demand an apology now because Suarez has expressed a wish to move to an alternative employer seems a bit rich." This is exactly right - Liverpool FC is a den of deluded hypocrits. The reality that you can't handle is that you USED TO BE a great club with a great team, but you've been punching above your weight for 15 years or more now, pathetically over-dependent on one or two players to make you look better than you are. You're AVERAGE - get used to it!! Suarez is a tw*t who was always going to walk over you lot to get to where he really wants to be - a genuinely big club where he can earn shedloads of cash and win things. Liverpool of the 70s and 80s is dead - good riddance!

  23. ANON 08:15 12 AUG ... "This is why no other club could be as great as LFC. We never let our players walk alone. The values of the club are inspiring ...". What?!

Historically - "great" - yes. Now? Get real.

    "Inspiring values"?!
Heysel. Hillsborough. Suarez - headbutted a ref; denied the world cup goal by using his hand; serial biter (not cereal); serial diver and actor; racist; disloyal to your club; etc, etc.

Wake up and smell your bull****.

    Nurse!

  26. Excellent article! The club cannot have double standards and in this case i do believe that BR did verbally agree to let LS go if CL was not achieved. I fail to see what will be achieved by holding a disgruntled player from leaving!!! We do have a terrible PR machine.

  27. I think the authors point was that Suarez wants out and making him rot in the reserves until he apologises isn't going to make him happy and 100% committed to Liverpoo. Sadly no loyalty in football these days and if he wants to go it will eventually happen now or in January and an unhappy player can have a massive negative impact on the team.

  28. Who cares about bent Brendan or goofy Suarez. Hope Brendan gets sacked Liverpool go down and Suarez (the premier league`s biggest cheat)fu*ks off home and takes his gnashers with him.

  29. Liverpool are up there as one of the most hated teams in polls. FACT. And there deluded attitude has been caught by there yankie chairman who said he would not sell suarez to a rival. Well if he sold him to stoke then they will be rivaling Liverpool this year not arsenal.

  30. Why would anyone put a clause in a contract saying the player needs to be informed of a bid but not be allowed to speak to the club who made said bid? Something seems wrong somewhere

  31. I honestly think lpool would be better letting suarez go he does the club no good.. im a blue and think fellainni should leave as he has been telling every club that mutes an interest in him all of a sudden he wants to play for them if you want to play for manure I will drive you there as long as I can shave your head for driving you there
