So, how fitting is that? Less than two years in to the "project", Pochettino has jumped ship and left Southampton in the lurch. And doesn't your heart bleed for a club that stabbed Nigel Adkins in the back after he guided them from the old third division to the Premiership with back to back promotions? What goes around comes around it seems.
Mind you, Pochettino couldn't have found a more appropriate home could he? Talk about a rat setting up home with a viper! Tell me, whose team finished higher in the table, Timmy Sherwood's or Mauricio Pochettino's? But despite a fantastic win percentage, Timmy was unceremoniously dumped just as this blog predicted (not hard I know) on the day he was appointed.
So the bookmakers can now offer a Special Bet. Who will dump who first, Levy or Pochettino? And how long will this marriage last? Until October, February, next May or might the Argentinian break all records by making it into a second season?
There's only one thing that's certain here, this won't last. Just ask AVB, Timmy, 'Arry and Oneday Ramos!
And meanwhile, with Daddy Rat jumping the sinking Saints ship, watch how quickly all the baby rats follow. Well, why should they show any loyalty to a club that sacked the man who turned them into Premiership players exactly?
Southampton relegated and Pochettino sacked by the end of February might be an interesting double!
TWAT!!
ReplyDeleteTalk about sour grapes! Who shat on your rhubarb then? Whilst Pochettino's loss is indeed great we will still finish higher than the 'mighty' West Ham, my sanguine little friend!!!
ReplyDeleteMy god, you must be the only man on earth who is both an Adkins sympathiser and Sherwood apologist.
ReplyDeletePerhaps it escaped your notice but Adkins was struggling in the PL when he got sacked and Tim Sherwood has the worst loss percentage in Spurs PL history.

ReplyDeleteComing from a team who's own fans boo when they're winning? Bore off back to the championship where your archaic long ball football belongs.
ReplyDeleteIt was the previous chairman that sacked Nigel Adkins not the current board.
ReplyDeleteVery misinformed article. In fact most all Saint's fans were against and infuriated with the way Adkins was treated after what he did. Remember, Its not the fans fault and we don't make the decisions, but have to live with them.
ReplyDeleteRead your first paragraph.
ReplyDeleteSo, how fitting is that? Less than two years in to the "project",
Less than two years? The project has ended my friend. New owners 2009-2014 prem league. 5 year plan complete. That's 1, 2, 3, 4 5. So unsure what u mean by less than two years into the plan. Please clarify
Yes, Saints fans were infuriated when Adkins was sacked. But to get facts correct, Adkins offered his resignation when we were promoted to the prem as he was not sure he was the right man for the job, and Cortese persuaded him to give it a go. It didnt work out and everyone moved on. Seems like a poorly written piece just jumping on the bandwagon of every other poor journalist who wants to sell a paper or get in the limelight.
ReplyDeleteCortese decided that Adkins should be sacked. Poch was signed up mainly because of Cortese. Cortese left and so did Poch. The owners of Southampton FC were not responsible for this. Good luck.
