"If Byram leaves Leeds"...the phrase Leeds fans don't want to hear in early May!

Oh dear. The Yapping Post has started speculating on who Leeds will buy to replace Byram if they are "forced" to sell England's future right back.

The bright star in an otherwise dark cupboard has been linked with a move to Manchester City and Spurs, and Arsenal may yet emerge as suitors, but McDermott assured everybody, before he jetted off on his hols, that he expected Byram to be a Leeds player next season. However, whilst Nice Guy Brian's away, the GFH Capital spin doctors can play!

The odds on Byram leaving have just shortened and the idea of a "forced sale" will alert potential bidders to the possibility of signing the kid at a reasonable price. What would it take to prise the boy away? Five million would be five times the total profit made by the Arab Bank Built on Sand last year. That might be tempting figure, especially if the merchant bankers - and the rhyming slang is deliberate - are looking to turn the club at a profit; and they have already admitted that they are looking for an early exit haven't they?

Marching on Together? The Arabs, like Revie, may just want to bugger off to the Middle East with as much cash as possible!

  1. Revie also buggered off leaving Leeds United with a list of honours that 2 bob clubs like West Ham can only dream about. A list that is still clearly generating pathetic jealousy 40 years later!

You are stating this as if it is a BAD thing...
    given the chance everyone would!

Arabs offer HF £10 for his blog,I am sure you would accept, every man has his price....
The value of your blog is between £3 -5, therefore a tenner would be hard to turn down!

  3. Jesus wept , you`re on Leeds United overdrive today. keep em coming sad sack. Were you beaten up by a Leeds fan once? There must be some deep-seated reason for your ramblings.

  4. More speculation cockney boy.i would like to think 1o million will prize him away.we could buy 4 or 5 decent players with that.me personally, dont think hes that good just yet.o

  5. How many times are you going to use that phrase you invented, "The arab bank built on sand" in your dull ramblings? It wasn't even amusing the first time you used it. Arent you more concerned about the player costs and contracts at West ham? cases in point mr Carroll and mr Cole? As a Leeds fan, I don't give a toss what happens at West Ham as they are not who I Support. I don't think you are a true "Hammers fan" or you would spend your time concentrating on their affairs instead of other clubs who aren't even in the same division as "your" team. Do you choose to just get up the noses of us Leeds fans or due you have a list of clubs that you target to satisfy your own insecurities? If the truth be known, you probably posted some rubbish aimed at West Ham in order to get attention and be liked but the Real West ham fans saw that you are dull, boring and ill informed and told you to fuck off. So now we and other supporters are stuck with you.

    1. Totally agree. The Yapping Post reference is also grating on me as it is boring, irrelevant, nonsense. YAWN

  10. As just about every Leeds fan has been trying to explain to you for the last few months it is not a question of IF Bryam leaves this summer it is WHEN, HOW MUCH and WHAT can be done with the sale proceeds.

  12. as long as it is not Norwich!!

  13. YEP have 3 stories about Byram today (2 which are identical) and 1 about his replacement, if they are trying to draw attention to him then they are succeeding.

Tom Lees has been called up to England U-21 squad so im waiting for the rumours to start about him next........

Hope the Norwich scout has left his second home in LS11 and gone on holiday otherwise it'll be "Lees & Byram move to Norwich for £4 million with XXX going in the opposite direction"

I love Leeds but every summer/january i cant help but feel like someones got a megaphone and stood on the top of the east stand and announced "the leeds player sale is now on, dont be afraid to bid as unlike ebay the lowest bidder wins"

  14. Not news, not even an article. Something scribbled on the loo roll-whilst sitting contemplating the meaning of life. The loo roll is pretty endess as is the "news" you keep producing.
You clearly enjoy relieving yourself of vast amounts of this diatribe which serves no apparent purpose, other than a bit of self gratification.
C'mon write something worth reading- I keep hoping you will, but all to often I'm sadly disappointed.

  15. Yorkshire Post headline saying Mancini's departure could "scupper" the Byram transfer is rather telling. How can you scupper a deal that does not exist? Unless the YP knows something we don't!!

    1. Highly likely they did know. I wouldn't be shocked if arrangements with Man City were made following the cup tie for Sam to be sold and loaned back. It would explain why assurances of Sam being at ER next season came out.

  16. Think I might just kill myself if we sell Sam. Such short term thinking. Whats worse is we wont demand the £15M minimum with clauses he is worth (yes he is worth that much and more, if Zaha is), we'll sell at the first offer. Probably £5M, in installments. HUGE ACID TEST FOR GFH

    ReplyDelete
  17. Its not the end of the world if he does leave as we are a bigger club than just 1 player, oh and much bigger than the bubble factory you support !

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes we're a bigger club than one player. But it's not just one player is it? It's every half-decent player we ever have. And you can't blame the players either; Johnson, Kilkenny, Howson, Snodgrass, Becchio, Delph, Smith and now Byram - none of them actually WANTED to leave Leeds. They just wanted more money, which they could get elsewhere, and why shouldnt they? Or in Snodgrass' case he wanted assurances and evidence that he was part of a club that had ambition. Worst part is, we probably could have kept most of them had we had some ambition and longer term thinking.

On another note, bought a player for £940,000 in the late 70's / early 80's. Doesn't it seem fucking insane that most of us hugely doubt we'll be buying anyone for that much this summer, some 30 plus years later?!!

      Delete
    2. £940,000 who was that ?

      Delete
    3. Eh! "they just wanted more money"...so holding the club to ransom for more money is worth keeping them at any cost?

Johnson - went for the premiership experience
Kilkenny - wasn't worth more money...now look where he is
Howson, Becchio, Delph and Smith - all sold to prop up the clubs finances (not because they wanted more money)
Byram - doesn't want more money, if he's sold it'll be to prop up the clubs finances. His mother says he really wants to stay at the club!

So where you get this "they all wanted more money" is rubbish.

Wouldn't surprise me if GFH provide BM with a couple of million to invest on players...he may well spend half of that on one player.....Le Fondre!

  19. If Leeds are offered a good price they should sell him. He's promising but I'd rather have 10 million to be quite Frank.

Has Fabian Delph set the world on fire?

Oh and HF, don't presume to know what the Leeds fans want to hear or not. You don't have a wide enough football knowledge

  20. Nazi Ham have to be boring(or are you shamed of your club?). You are using all your time on Leeds United. Thanx for your intersed in MIGHTY LEEDS :)

  21. What many of you guys don't seem to grasp is that the Byram money will not be reinvested in the squad, it will be used to boost GFH's profits!

If we had been a sleep for the past few years and not witnessed this gutting of our assets with know re investment we at least would have noticed you repeated mumblings of the same subject. Dead horse, flogging spring to mind. Fuck off and die of cancer of be a man of your words, LOL LOL and pick a new club to bore shitless!!! MOT

    3. yeah,its called business,numb nuts

    4. I think that is fairly obvious from day one. They aren't here to make Leeds a success, but to make money. Even if premier league promotion is achieved, they just want to use Leeds as a mid table club to suck profits out of, not ambition to be anything more. Bates should have sold to Haskell or one the Saudis who came sniffing around, they have real money and real ambition

    5. Will it? And what if it isn't? Will u say sorry I got it wrong? No u won't cos ur ego stops you from doing so!

      Delete
    6. Spot on! Leeds have become like a small town selling club and have obviously decided to cash in - as they have with every one of their best players since they got back into the Championship. The Man City situation might have scuppered what they had in mind - but not the outcome. Owners sell and do not invest in the team. Yet another freebie journeyman arrives for one last payday with the manager expected to perform a miracle on a shoestring. He doesn't and the fans turn sour - again. It's all setting up for another repeat showing.

    10. Wrong, it'll be used as an incentive for other investors to buy shares from GFH (at a profit for GFH).

.....Look at the playing assets the club has!

      Delete
    11. What all Leeds Fans don't fail to grasp is that you are trying to discredit the Clubs Owners to make leeds fans continually feel downcast and that the club has no future.

This is deliberate, you do it all the time because you loath Leeds by your own admittance.
You are a slimy little Toad who probably runs around on Christmas eve telling the kids there is no Santa Cluas.

  30. Not a case of if, more of when.

The only way I see Byram playing for Leeds next season is on loan from however we've sold him to.

GFH and BM would be mad not to accept £10M - £15M for the boy. Imagine how that could be used to strengthen the side....or even buy back ER or TA.

Heart says don't sell him....head says they probably will.....footballs a business!
