Byram Battlelines Being Drawn Between Brian McDermott and Leeds Board

Interesting. Nice Guy Brian said "for us, for me" Byram would be 100% playing for Leeds next season, and suddenly the Official Site rushes out an article on Byram headed, "You Never Know What Could Happen".

Now I said that McDermott was being clever with his words, allowing for a 'sale and retain for a season' deal, aka Zaha, but the GFH Capital spin doctors may have taken management of expectations to a new level.

Apart from the headline, designed to refute the 100% assertion of Nice Guy Brian - for clearly nothing is 100% certain if "You Never Know What Could Happen" - the author who 'penned' the article also writes,  "The defender is looking to the future and how great it would be to be at the club if promotion could be achieved" (my italics, bold and underlining).

That word "if"is so, so, so telling. Byram didn't say it, somebody has deliberately formulated that sentence and it is a massive poke in the eye for the new manager. Not a slap down as such, but a coded message about who is really in charge at Leeds.

Warnock claimed that the new Board had given him assurances that no players would leave without his say so, and told Leeds fans that Becchio was not going anywhere in January; and look what happened.

The battle lines have been drawn in the Arab bank's sand!

  2. 'you never know what could happen' was in reference to getting three more wins/playoffs! have you actually read the article. Have you considered a career in spin? I would love to know how you make these absurd jumps from one topic to another?

  3. One thing for certain mate, if, and let's be honest, money speaks volumes, but if Leeds do sell him it won't be to some 'also ran team' from the East End now will it.
Reality is your team has no pedigree, never done anything and the likelihood it never will, forever the ugly bridesmaid, hence the reason why you're always 'courting' Leeds as your own supporters don't have access to the internet so the only way you get hits is to write about us.

  4. He will be sold cockney boy.for ten million let him go,but only if its going to be invested back into the team...a big if...this blog is the same as the last one hf.

  5. Wonderful article. In ten years or so, you may be just about ready to write for the daily mail. Good luck to you sir

  6. And the article you refer to is hinting that promotion is still possible, 'You never know what could happen", and the sentence you highlight is irrelevant to the topic you are purporting it to be. Dont get me wrong, Sam may leave if we dont gain promotion or at least qualify for the playoffs after next season, albeit for a hefty fee, but in the meantime he's going NOWHERE! And now we have something else (apart from our fans and history and lots more) that every other team in the world are envious of.

It was warnock who wanted becchio out not gfh, as they have said so in previous quotes. So u are wrong there.
I'm not saying byram won't be sold, but things are different since McDermott arrived and in such a shirt space of time too.

  8. Deciet is the game that's played out in the boardroom of ALL football clubs. if he goes, he goes! There's nowt Byram or anyone reading your blog can do about that! You worry too much about things that don't concern you!

  9. So much time spent looking at the semantics of an article about Leeds suggests you have no life, am I right?

    1. You ARE indeed right. Every morning he's up before the larks scrutinising every article on Leeds. Take it as a compliment people,he cares,he really cares. How many times must he have read Mcdermotts words in the YEP to find a "hidden meaning"? We're under his skin.

  12. Im a leeds fan who quite likes the odd tongue in cheek article you write. More often than not though, you come up with drivel which is just designed to provoke reaction. Being constructive, i would suggest that you dont post the drivel and cut down one article a week, so we only get the good stuff!. MOT

    1. No. I wrote an article about Nice Guy Brian saying Byram would 100% be at Leeds next season. This article is about the Board's reaction to NGB saying that. Try to keep up!

    2. But, wait a minute ... the board haven't made ANY reaction to him saying that ? So what is this article about again ?

    1. With regard to Savile, follow this link:

      http://thegamesgonecrazy.blogspot.ro/2012/10/jimmy-savile-leeds-connection.html

      Please note my opening paragraph:

Some rather distasteful individuals have posted comments on here trying to besmirch the City of Leeds and Leeds United Football Club on the basis that Savile was born in Leeds. One idiot who purports to support the club has even tried to goad me into penning an article designed to stir up hatred between our clubs. How sad.

      And my paragraph:

Anyway, there will be no Savile jibes from me and certainly no attempt to tarnish the City nor its football club because of his abusive actions. It is a sad final chapter to what was previously a weirdly epic story and the big questions for me are the extent to which employees were pressurised by senior managers not to spill the beans and why, exactly, these managers felt to need to cover up Savile's actions.

Now, you explain why you are trying to use that article against me. I quote the first three comments left on the thread:

A fine article HF. Respect to you for those balanced and well articulated views. Anyone who saw the JS interview with Louis Theroux a few years ago will not be surprised at the revelations.

Just when I thought you'd never go up in my estimations you've managed it. When I read the title of your article I have to admit I feared the worst, but I was wrong. Good on you and shame on those that have tried to goad you into a different perspective.

To HF!It's possible Byram may go!i shall not argue with that! But HF you need too do your homework!Rose(spurs),Garbutt(everton),messrsr,Taiwo, woods, gordon(chelsea),of course Howson(Norwich)and finally Delph(Villa)! They have all done so well....!?Don't you think!!!!??? Compared to Robinson,Carson,Kelly,Harte,Woodgate,MCphail,Kewell,Smith,Speed, Batty,Lennon,Milner!ALL INTERNATIONALS AND ALL ACADEMY OR APPRENTICE!My point is leaving a team for money doesn't always PAY OFF!!SIMPLE!Unless your Rio,cole,Defoe or Lampard!!!
